  • Hmm....

Not a bad overall episode and to be honest (as an avid fan to this day) I get the impression that the producers were trying to give \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Knight Rider\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" a grittier feel more akin to Miami Vice than it had in previous seasons. The use of the phrase \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Bull...!\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" by Jeffery Cavanaugh-played by Robert F. Lyons and Michael\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s quote \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'m gonna do a helluva lot more than that if you hurt Karen....\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" to Julian Martin - played by Daniel Faraldo drives that point home as the show typically did not use colorful language in previous or following episodes aside from the pilot and the very earliest episodes.

The opening jailbreak and the ensuing car chase scenes are energetic and strangely engaging as sometimes the show has a bit of a detached feel, but this sequences draw me in particulary well....moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • We get a clear shot of the semi cab's license plate: 2J01192. This differs from the 1U13265 seen in season one's "Hearts of Stone," though it is still in the blue and yellow California license plate format, as opposed to the white with sunset 'Golden State' variety that started appearing in the 3rd season.

    • When Michael engages Super Pursuit Mode inside the warehouse, the same stock footage with reflections off KITT indicative of an outside transformation is used.

    • When Michael positions KITT to turbo boost from one parking garage to another, skid marks are visible from previous run-throughs of the stunt.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • (Michael opens car door and stray dog jumps out.)
Michael: Did I just see what I think I saw?
KITT: What do you think you saw, Michael?
Michael: I saw, uh—ah, forget it. (sotto voce) I think I should've finished that cup of espresso.

    • Devon: Good luck, Michael, and oh, caveo cautum.
Michael: "Caveo cautum?" What happened to, "be careful?"
Karen: Well, that's what he said, in Latin. Literally translates to, "beware of the dog."

    • Michael: You know what they say about 'all work and no play.'
Karen: Yes, I do. It's a prerequisite for a doctorate in criminal science.

    • Michael: (to Julian) You got away squeaky clean two years ago, but this time I'm gonna be right on top of you until I see your neck in a ringer!

    • Cavanaugh: Great move, Julian. Your clowns kidnapped an empty car.

    • Devon: What are you using as a basis for your thesis?
Karen: Michael Knight—sexiest crimefighter in America.

  • NOTES (3)

    • Just like The Ice Bandits in Season 3, this episode for Season 4 debuts the real credits used for the season this time showing KITT's Super Pursuit Mode, Emergency Breaking System and the bonus retractable hardtop RC3 installed during KITT's second rebuild in Knight of thee Juggernaut.

    • The French episode title is "K.I.T.T. séquestrée", meaning "K.I.T.T. Confined". The Czech episode title is "Únos", meaning "Kidnapping".

    • This is the second of Robert O'Reilly's two, unrelated appearances on Knight Rider. He can also be seen in season two's "A Good Knight's Work."
