Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • To get away from the two sedans ambushing them in the construction zone, Michael and KITT turbo boost over the tractor-trailer. After the break, they are passing through that same intersection, now clear, with one of the ambush sedans casually driving up the ramp alongside them as if part of normal traffic.

    • It is strange that Michael didn't realize that something was wrong when the construction workers directed him down a closed overpass, where he would be ambushed by the two sedans moments later. No other traffic was being directed onto that overpass, and no other traffic was on the overpass.

    • Though in no particular rush, Michael makes a left turn from a 'straight/right turn only' lane shortly after assisting the Street Avenger.

    • In the Cernium-116 vault, Michael is wearing a striped black and white shirt, but when he goes outside to KITT, he's suddenly wearing a red shirt.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Hower: I'm Jim Hower. I'm afraid neither Dr. Quinlin nor Mr. Miles are here.
      Michael: Where are they?
Hower: I really couldn't say. They left together over an hour ago.
Marta: Maybe they're back at the house.
Michael: No, no, Devon would have called me in the car. Who'd they meet with?
Hower: Are you always this persistent?
Michael: Are you always this evasive?

    • Devon: We bombarded a mass of plutonium with titanium ions, thereby creating a new isotope.
      Michael: What's that in English?
      Devon: That is English.

    • Devon: What's the meaning of this?
Nordstrom: I wouldn't concern myself with meaning right now. If I were you I'd concern myself with survival.

    • Michael: (to Jennifer Knight) Your father, on his deathbed, bequeathed to me the belief that one man can make a difference. That's what FLAG's all about: "one man can make a difference."

    • Michael: I'd like to see Mr. Miles, right now, in the flesh.
      Nordstrom: And if you don't?
Michael: Then I'll tear this building apart, piece by piece, starting with you.

    • Michael: "Call me Ishmael."
Fake Devon: I beg your pardon?
Michael: You remember--first line of a classic novel. You were right. It was Hemingway.
      Fake Devon: Of course.

  • NOTES (13)

    • This is the second of Luis Contreras' two, unrelated appearances on Knight Rider. He can also be seen in season two's "Mouth of the Snake [a.k.a. All That Glitters]".

    • The German episode title is "K.I.T.T.s Unfall mit Folgen", meaning "KITT's Accident with Consequences". The French episode title is "Le Chevalier de métal", meaning "The Metal Knight". The Czech episode title is "Přízrak", meaning "Wraith".

    • When Michael asks what his suspension means, a board member echoes Jennifer Knight's earlier words, telling saying that, among other things, it means "no more James Bond fantasies." This sequence is cut from some syndicated versions.

    • Edward Mulhare obviously does double duty, additionally portraying his surgically created double.

    • This is the second of Nicholas Worth's two, unrelated appearances on Knight Rider. He can also be seen in season three's "Knight of the Chameleon."

    • This is the second of John Considine's two, unrelated appearances on Knight Rider. He can also be seen in season three's "Knight in Disgrace."

    • This is the second of Pamela Susan Shoop's two, unrelated appearances on Knight Rider. She can also be seen in the two-hour pilot, "Knight of the Phoenix."

    • In addition to Super Pursuit Mode, this episode also introduces KITT's new emergency braking system, and his new convertible mode. (Note that when KITT's top folds down, a cover for it seems to magically slide into place. One wonders where this comes from.)

    • In the final credits of the show, you can see a glimpse of the "New and Improved" KITT, but the image is intentionally dark as to not give away the final product.

    • Like many other movie-length episodes of Knight Rider, this episode originally aired as a 2-hour TV movie to kick off the new season. For syndication, it has been broken into two parts. In addition to the normal trims and edits that are made in syndication to allow for extra commercials, the two-part version of this episode has even more cuts than normal to allow for the extra set of credits and the 'previously on Knight Rider' sequence.

    • The title of this episode can occasionally found to be listed as 'Night Of The Juggernaut'. Knight with a 'K', is the correct title, as seen on-screen.

    • Mostly shot on location in Chicago.

    • This episode has a unique version of the opening credits; they are in the 4th season style, but show the previous 3rd season version of KITT's features as not to spoil the new functions. However, Peter Parros is added to this version of the credits, giving away to viewers that he would become a regular in the series.
