      • (Michael is about to go on his previously interrupted date)
KITT: Michael, Devon just called. And emergency has come up. He wants you back at the semi right away.
Michael: I'm not blowing this date again. I mean, I've got the limo, I've got the reservations, I've got the flowers—
        KITT: I'm afraid Devon insists.
        (Michael just groans)

      • Ruth Keeler: (looking at KITT's dash) What kind of car is this?
Michael: Uh, it's an '87. I got an early delivery.
        KITT: Really, Michael.
Ruth: It talks? What will they have in '88.
        Michael: Hopefully, quieter cars.

      • (KITT just saved his and Michael's life)
Michael: Buddy, have you heard the poem "How do I love thee, let me count the ways"?
KITT: Michael, this is no time for sentimentality.

      • Lou: I've got a bad heart. I could die.
Michael: Then why don't you do it? You'd save the state a lot of money.

      • KITT: Michael, we are on 24 hour call. I find nothing important about the price of yellow roses.
Michael: That's because you never pay cash.

    • NOTES (3)

      • The German episode title is "Die Boxmeisterschaft", meaning "The Boxing Match". The Czech episode title is "Záchrana špiona", meaning "Rescue of a Spy".

      • This is the second of Ken Foree's two, unrelated appearances on Knight Rider. He can also be seen in season three's "Knight in Disgrace."

      • Former heavyweight boxing champion Ken Norton, promoter Don King, and Jerry Quarry, who was kayoed by Norton in 1975, all have guest parts in this episode. Part of the reason for such a sports-star line-up was due to ratings gradually falling in the fourth season, so the old favourite "ratings grabber" trick of using big names to try and pull in viewers was employed.
