The bank robbed was the Bank of R. Gilmer, named for a writer and co-producer of the episode.
When Michael gets ready to turbo boost with Tino over the oncoming robbers' car, there is traffic going the same way visible through Michael's window, indicating they are on a multilane street, but the actual stunt takes place on a narrower, residential road with no other traffic in sight.
In KITT with Michael, Tino presses the "Auto Roof R" button, but both sides lift.
In the scene where Tino runs out of gas after stealing the bank robbers' car, he is seen turning the ignition. He had to hotwire the car to steal it, so there would be no key to turn.
KITT: What could a paunchy man in a red suit possibly have to do with the birth of a religious leader?
Michael: I'll talk to Santa about your stocking this year. How about a nice new set of retreads and some mudflaps?
KITT: Very funny.
Tino: I didn't rob no bank!
KITT: Any bank.
The German episode title is "Eine schöne Bescherung", meaning "A Fine Mess". The French episode titles are "Les Bohémiens" ("The Gypsies") and "Sainte Nuit" ("Holy Night"). The Czech episode title is "Pomoc v nouzi", meaning "Help in Distress".
