Shiryu is having troubles to attack Argol, since he needs to pay attention to the Medusa Shield.
  • An episode that truly seperates Knights of the Zodiac from other series'. A little bith of myth, strategy and character development hardly seen in other shows.

This episode is important and special because of the character development and the way the battle goes. Unlike a lot of other shows, few of the battles in Knights of the Zodiac are "my flashier attack is cooler than yours, I win," but a lot about strategy and weak points. This episode shows that a lot because you can tell that even though Shiryu is stronger than his opponent, Algol the Silver Persues Knight; Shiryu has no real way of attacking Algol without looking at the Medusa Shield (which would petrify him). If Shiryu gets petrified, then not only does he lose the battle, but Seiya and Shun will stay petrified forever as well (and if Algol decides to shatter the statues after beating Shiryu, they all die). Even though Shiryu feels that he has no chance of winning this battle, he does not giving up and even sacrifices part of himself to ensure victory. Another reason this episode is important is because it is another episode that shows how far Shiryu will go to fight for his friends and what he believes in as. A mix of character development, mythical insight, logic, and sacrifice make this one of the better episodes in the series.moreless
