According to TV Guide, this episode registered a 17.0 rating and a 30 share beating its main competition (a rerun of "L.A. Law").
Actually, it wasn't clear whether Jill killed herself on purpose or not. Karen and Mack discussed this and theorized that Jill may have A) wanted the cops to find her alive (but tied up) in Gary's trunk and then testify against him or B) she may have wanted to really die and pin her "murder" on Gary, thus, exacting her final revenge. Since Jill was the only one who could answer that question and she was dead, it would never be known for sure.
Even though Jill died three episodes ago, they show flashback scenes of how and why she killed herself and framed Gary. Jill Bennett's murder has finally been solved!
Tonya Crowe (Olivia), Pat Petersen (Michael), & Peter Reckell (Johnny) do not appear in this episode.
Teri Austin ("Jill") makes her final appearance on the series in this episode.
