Mine is either "The Ripper," or "Horror in the Heights."

    Least favorite is "Mr. RING."

I blind bought this series after hearing about its influence on The X-Files (one of my favorites!) and loving Darren McGavin from A Christmas Story. One of the best "blind" purchases I've made!

Greetings!  So glad to find other Kolchak fans here.

The Zombie is still my favorite episode  - mostly because Kolchak had to get right in with the body and sew it's lips shut in order to kill it - that was gross and disgusting and completely scary.  Whatever he needed to do, Kolchak would find a way to do it - even if he had to use an old hub cap to hold his candles.

Least favorite - Mr. R.I.N.G.  The robot who wants to be a man.  Granted, back then it wasn't quite as old and cliched as it seems now, but this episode was definitely bottom of the barrel.

Just watched "The Energy Eaters," and while it's not awful, I think it's emblematic of where the series was headed. With the major monsters done early (vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc.) I admire the producers for trying more obscure frights, but the results are uneven. The vengeful bear god's wrath consists of cracked walls and sparks flying and the suspense level (in my opinion) doesn't match the better episodes. Fortunately, the humor comes through strong - the supporting cast at INS is terrific. The second half of the season was a lot like this - good concept, flawed execution, but enough humor and McGavin to keep things interesting.

I'm guessing I'm one of the few that really likes The Sentry, but I really do!
