Names: Larry, Moe, Curly and Shemp
Species: Hyenas (all male).
Abilities: All four possess all the basic hyena abilities literall a hundred times magnified, plus an "acid drool/spit" power (though the acid is strong enough to eat through ten-foot-thick solid steel in one minute, and the hyenas are accurate enough spitters to unerringly hit a target within a range of 60 feet, it doesn't have any effect on the inside of the hyena's bodies OR their outer muzzles due to some aspect of the genetic engineering done on their parents that renders their insides and outer muzzles acid proof) and a "sonic laugh" attack that can majorly disorient almost any opponent (especially those that have super-hearing) who isn't properly prepared. However, each possesses a different added trait.
Larry has extensive mechanical skill and likes to design and build various gadgets to aid his fellow hyenas in their dangerous hi-jinks.
Moe has a talent for tactical and strategic brilliance and is the natural leader of the four.
Curly is the most natural fighter of the four hyenas and is skilled in various forms of unarmed combat.
Shemp is the most stealthy of the four hyenas and is an excellent lock-picker/safe cracker.
Background: These four hyenas are the sons of the Joker's original hyenas Bud (that would be Larry and Moe) and Lou (that would be Curly and Shemp) and two female hyenas (who signed on about a year-and-a-half after the time frame of the Krypto series) named Laverne (Bud's mate [and Larry and Moe's mother]) and Shirley (Lou's mate [and Curly and Shemp's mother]). In order to make his hyenas better equipped for dealing with the ever-rising number of super-animals, Joker had blackmailed S.T.A.R. Labs scientists into performing genetic experiments on Bud, Lou, Laverne and Shirley to give them super-powers (this was about three years after the time frame of the Krypto series). The experiments successfully and permanently increased he hyenas' individual strength, speed, agility, endurance, senses and intelligence tenfold, but the best results would NOT be on the four hyenas themselves.
When Laverne and Shirley each gave birth to twins a couple of years later, the hyena cubs had all the inherited genetically enhanced abilities of their parents... ten times magnified. What's more, these hyena cubs ALSO developed two abilities their parents DIDN'T have; acid drool/spit and sonic laugh attacks.
As the hyena cubs grew up, they got better with their powers and also ended up developed specific traits and a pecking order. Thus, when they grew to adulthood, Larry, Moe, Curly and Shemp, as the hyenas came to be called, were not only ready to begin their own criminal careers, but also follow a specific style doing it. Moe was the leader, Larry was the gadgeteer, Curly was the main fighter and Shemp was the main stealth expert. Together these four super-hyenas have caused plenty of trouble for Trump (aka Bathound II) as well as many of the assorted super-powered animal heroes.
Personalities: All four of the hyenas are very cunning and have truly warped senses of humor, and work pretty well with the group pecking order (Moe planning the capers, Larry cooking up the gizmos to do the jobs, Curly keeping the inevitable "super-hero spoil sports" occupied AND Shemp sneaking in whereever he needed to and disable the security systems). And each has a personality trait perfectly suiting their role in the gang.
Larry is especially hyperactive concerning mechanical stuff.
Moe is a take-charge sort of hyena who, despite his warped sense of humor, is dead serious about crime.
Curly is an exceptionally bold hyena who never backs away from a good fight, unless Moe specifically orders him to do so (and, even then, Curly only does it very reluctantly).
Shemp is pretty quiet for a hyena on the job, preferring to not lose the element of surprise against a hero until it's too late for them to do anything about the attack.
Descriptions: All the hyenas are silver-furred with golden spots and wear collars that not only contain joy buzzers and stink bomb dispensers, but can also spray out laughing gas, sneezing powder and itching powder (all specially formulated to even work on Superdog, Supercat or Power Cat). The collars are also all different colors.
Larry's is orange.
Moe's is black.
Curly's is golden yellow.
Shemp's is dark blue.
