Here's another one for the "Future Animals" thread. Actually, this one is just a group description, but it does hold references to a few of the more notable members of the group. MAJOR thanks to Catfan1 AND 3StarvingArtist for their help on this one:
The History Scouts
A youth organization of (mostly) puppies and kittens (though there ARE a few members of OTHER species in the group too) founded in the mid-23rd Century to help spread the legacy of the galaxy's greatest heroes.
Professor Tralfaz began to think about the new group in response to questions from youngsters curious about the Dog Star Squadron. He was encouraged by teammate Air Dale, who thought the project might help build Tralfaz's confidence as he was still learning to be a superhero himself at this point.
The History Scouts are asked to aspire to the highest ethical standards at all times. They may earn history badges by conducting their own small-scale "superhero" projects to help others. They also occasionally take field trips to witness important events in superhero history such as Krypto the Superdog's first meeting with the original Dog Star Patrol, the origin of Streaky the Supercat or the very first case Krypto, Streaky, Ace, the Dog Star Patrol, Stretch-O-Mutt, Superman and Batman ALL worked together on (but usually from the safety of an invisible force field and only for events seen as not posing any dangers). Occasionally, the members have even helped bail the good professor out of dangerous situations.
Members with questions about the group's mission may consult the History Scout Guide, the ultimate electronic encyclopedia of superhero lore and source of advice on everything from how to escape most death traps to the different forms of Kryptonite and their effects. To anyone unfamiliar with 23rd century technology, the device's ability to instantly answer so many questions definitively seems almost magical, but it is actually the result of extensive research by Tralfaz who has incorporated the work of the greatest historians of the past two centuries into the device's database. On more than one occasion, it was able to instantly calculate the exact hideout and method of operation of less imaginative criminals.
Members include unofficial leader X-Ray Dale (nephew of Air Dale and a part Kryptonian puppy with all of the powers that happen to be related to eyesight, including, telescopic vision, X-ray vision and heat vision), Zeus (a super-strong chihuahua who also has the ability to shoot strong electrical blasts from his forepaws [he is also a descendant of both Mammoth Mutt AND Tusky Husky]), Amphitrite (a female sheepdog with strong [and only barely controllable] hydrokinetic and cryokinetic powers [she is also a Drooly descendant]) and Singa Pura (a young kitten learning to control her sonic purring powers). Contrary to what the four above examples would have you think, most of the members are not super-powered (though they ARE completely dedicated and, for their ages, extremely skilled and resourceful) and membership is open to any young animal willing to take the group's oath of loyalty to the super hero cause.
Despite the group's apparent success, Dash Hound has been known to deride it as "The Starhound Fan Club," since several of the members, including (and especially) X-Ray Dale, DO greatly admire the professor. Air Dale however, is pleased and is happy that his nephew has become one of the groups' most honored scouts.
Tralfaz was the first adult leader but, as he grew more and more into his Starhound role and ended up away on Dog Star Squadron missions more and more, has since become too busy to continue this level of 'paws-on' involvement and the duties have been taken up by other like-minded animals who follow his original guidelines.
Many of the scouts continued their interest in superheroing as they matured and eventually formed their own junior version of the Dog Star Squadron.
