| Well, I've read Krypto #2 today and ... well, the lead-off story involved Kevin and Krypto sent pinballing through dimensions courtesy of Red Kryptonite. The second story, well, I'm not going to spoil it except to say that it involved special missiles aimed for Earth's sun and it also involved the ENTIRE Dog Star Patrol (INCLUDING both Streaky AND Drooly). Any more than that would spoil TOO MUCH. I'd rather see you reading it for yourself. :-D |
Good morning all. I had some GREAT news waiting for me in my mailbox this morning. I received a reply from Jesse McCann overnight and would like to share it with all of you.
Hey Carl!
Believe it or not, I just discovered your site last week when I was doing a vanity search to see if anyone was saying anything about K-Dog comics! Thanks for the kind words.
Don't know if I'll have time in the near future to register and stop by the site (I've been doing a lot of Krypto signings in comic stores -- I'm off to Phoenix tomorrow), but maybe you'll give a good word to everybody there from me (and, of course to Casey, too). Meantime, if anybody there has questions, you can e-mail them to me, I'll answer you and you can tell them.
Before I leave tomorrow, I'm finishing up a story called "Deliver Our Mail Carrier" where Krypto and the Dog Stars save an intergalactic mailman from Mechanikat and Snooky. The running joke is they like the mailman, although they can't stop barking and growling at him for some reason. It's a puzzler. This iss for issue six. The very last story in the run is called "You Bet Your Sweet Beppo," and it guest-stars Beppo the Super Monkey and Comet the Super Horse.
After that ... well, that remains to be seen. If sales are good, DC might consider doing more. They've definitely tossed around the idea of collecting the miniseries into a trade collection. If you want to see the series continue, you can write to Bob Wayne and/or Paul Levitz at DC and plead Krypto's case. DC Comics address is 1700 Broadway, New York, NY 10019. It never hurts for them to get letters from fans who want a series to live on (but it's certainly no guarantee either).
Thanks for writing. Gotta go! Take it easy!
Best
Jesse L McCann
Well, there you have it my friends. We are being given a golden opportunity and must take full advantage of this. I will begin writing my letter today and will mail it by the weekend. I encourage all of you to do the same. If you learn that Jesse will be in your area at a signing, be sure to go and tell him hello and that you're a member of the KTS forum on tv.com.
Have a great weekend. Until later, take care

Wow. It looks like they decided to use the guys we made after all. Congrats to whoever originally made Comet and Beppo.
Actually Isaac, Comet and Beppo are old Silver Age DC creations we decided to update for the KTSD-verse. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beppo_%28comics%29

But that'd be cool if they ever did use fan chars.
On the e-mail: Sweetness, Ladsone! I especially can't wait to see what he does with Beppo and Comet, oughta be interesting. I can see that I'll definately be doing some letter writing this week.
For those of us who don't live near a comic book store, there are comic book dealers online who sell Krypto and other comic books, I just did a search and compared prices. I received Krypto #2 in the mail the other day and enjoyed it quite a bit.
Thanks for posting the letter from Mr. McCann, Ladsone. I'm also looking forward to that story with Beppo and Comet. Good to see the old Silver Age characters getting work.

Oh.
. Shame I never read the comics. Though at my age I don't want anyone to know.
Just to let everyone know, hop over to the DC website to see the cover to issue #6 of Krypto.

I e-mailed Jesse Leon McCann, the writer of the Krypto comic books the other day. I mentioned wanting to see Streaky get the spotlight in some stories and he graciously replied with this intriguing teaser:
There's more Streaky in future issues, including one where he is turned to the Dark Side by Mechanikat.
I can't wait to see that. ![]()

| Great news indeed. I picked up my copies this afternoon and was very pleased. Jesse and his staff have done a fantastic job on the first three, I can't wait to see the others. Could this be a hint that there will be more episodes after number six? I guess we'll all find out very soon. LADSONE |
