This is an above average episode.

While watching the series you can usually never forget that it's from the 90s. Not that I don't love it.. I watched it as a child and it brings back a lot of great memories, but there usually is a huge amount of overacting and some lines should better be burried without repeating.

This episode was different though. I always found that Robert Lansing (playing Paul Blaisdell) was one of the greater actors in this series and that is proven more than ever in this episode which is centered around his character.

    Best scenes:

The episode starts with a terrificly nervous Peter. Caine is having dinner with his (step-)family and he wants everything to be perfect. This brings such a contrast to the rest of the episode which destroys all the family-feeling.

Then Captain Blaisdell yelling at Peter for calling him Paul in the office and the repetition of this afterwards in their home, when Peter comes to arrest him: "You don't mind if I call you Paul, do you. I seem to remember a time when I thought I could call you father!" ..wow.. We even get a flashback of Nathaniel Moreau playing young Peter with hair (!) , not in the temple, but the first time he met Blaisdell. Which is a beautiful scene to see, that was even mentioned a couple of episodes earlier when Peter was in the hospital.

Only thing that unnerved me was that stupid time-travel thing that Caine did to get the needed information, but ok.. this episode was so great in matters of acting and exciting storytelling that i can forget those little flaws.

I'm just so sorry that Robert Lansing (Paul Blaisdell) died before this episode even aired. Makes the saying goodbye in the end even sadder.moreless
