It is revealed that Kwai Chang Caine has two half-brothers, Damon and Martin Bradshaw.
The flashback scene that shows Matthew Caine during WW II, is footage from 'The Sacred Chalice of I-Ching', with a little extra dialogue added in.
Goof: At one point of the episode, one of the bank robbers has his gun kicked out of his hands, followed by Caine kicking him over a desk to the floor. Moments later, there is a scene where the same robber is shown armed and in another part of the bank with no indication about how he got there.
When Caine discusses the possibilities of evil spirits at work with Peter, he mentions the events from 'Rite of Passage ' and ' Flying Fists of Fury II: Masters of Illusion ' as examples.
The three trials Caine faces to retrieve the chalice:
1) Trial of faith - Caine walks through a barrier of fire.
2) Trial of combat - Caine must fight two armored knights while temporarily blind.
3) Trial of purity - Caine's soul must be free of guile, hatred, evil when he grasps the chalice else he (or any man who holds the chalice) will be lost in the darkness forever.
At the beginning of the episode, Peter is shown typing on a computer keyboard and mentions that he is working on File # 94-908 'Case of the Poison Hand', which is part of the episode title.
