jajajaja I never get tired of watching it, this is one of the most brilliant series begining I have seen in my entire life, when I started watching it (only to prove if this could be a good show) I told myself: "this porbably is going to be a boring scfi tv show" but at the ending I was so amesed with what I just had seen, the acting was wexellent and the entire chapter was so funnny and interesting, this is definitively one of my favorite series begining which i enyoed over and over again.

  • Accessible, smart, entertaining, interesting, refreshing and inspiring pilot

    9.0
Watching this pilot was a great and unexpected surprised. I never really paid attention to it until someone mentionned John Doe, the TV show, in an article about best cliffhangers. Then I discovered that the shows were actually quite similar.

The one thing that astonished me is that it's quite smart when the audience is the whole family. So it's quite accessible and that's a brilliant concept because these days some productions are just all black or all white. Kyle XY deals with very important topics like family issues, learning process, relationships… The protagonist almost looks like a genius baby doing his first steps and we're here to witness his epic adventure. Moreover the acting was quite good, from the children to the adults. There were also some eye candy scenes that kids and teenagers should really like as they reminded me of films like American Pie. However I found a fighting one was over the top because the character who was involved wasn't supposed to do what he did. I like to compare it to The Matrix scene where Neo first have to learn kung fu before practicing it against Morpheus in the virtual dojo. But in the end what I really appreciated was the family vibe and how well the relationships were covered. After only a few minutes you should already care about all these interesting characters and I already want to learn more about them. Some arcs were also introduced and they should convince you to watch the other episodes because they bring new elements like mystery and attraction.

To sum things up it was a great way to introduce us to the show. The last time I was so gladly surprised was probably after watching Eureka's pilot. It felt so refreshing and the story seems quite inspiring. It's really nice to see that some talented people have managed to create such a brilliant production.
  • My favorite episode of the series! A great start to a great show!

    10
The pilot episode is one of my all time favorite episodes! I love season 1 because of its careful examination of life. I believe that in season 2 and 3, Kyle had already fully grown up and was therefore not examining or learning about anything anymore. What I loved about the pilot was that it was a perfect opening to the mystery. The end left us with many questions and viewers couldn't wait for the next week's episode. The music choices were fabulous, especially the choice for Pachelbels Canon to be Amanda's song. Kyle's discovery of everything around him was portrayed fabulously. The characters had chemistry and history, but the audience didn't come into the show lost. Bravo to the cast and crew! this pilot episode Rocked My Socks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • A great opening for the series.

Opposed to many other TV-series, this one opens with a fascinating mystery, combined with an interesting perspective of a person who knows nothing of the world, but is trying to understand how things work.

I started liking the series from the beginning, but I understood how special it is after Kyle's monologue regarding Amanda's music.

The other characters are also introduced in a way that shows their character and behaviour; Nicole as a caring mother, Stephen as a technology-oriented smart man, Lori as a typical teenage girl who enjoys parties and meaningless conversations, and Josh as a teenage boy who is obsessed with... things ordinary boys of his age are interested in.
  • Starring: Matt Dallas, Marguerite MacIntyre, Bruce Thomas, April Matson, Jean luc Bilodeau, Chris Olivero, Kirsten Prout. A boy with no memory showsp and begins to live with the Trager family.

    9.5
The pilot episode of the most famous, well, until The Secret Life of the American Teenager, on ABC Family. This was not a show that i expected myself to watch, but i wathced it with my sister. I instantly enjoyed it and fell into the mystery of the program. The cast did a great job, and the characters were so real that it reminded me of some people at my school. Kyle (Matt Dallas) seemed so lost and it was well done in that manner by the actor Matt Dallas. Josh (Jean luc Bilodeau) and Lori (April Matson) both were very real characters, and the drama and relationship between Declan (Chris Olivero) and Lori made me and instant shipper for Lorlan (my couple name). However, as usual, i had some problems with this episode, in the form of how obvious it was that Amanda (Kirsten Prout), and how weird it is that Nicole (Marguerite MacIntyre) and Stephen (Bruce Thomas) so willingly let Kyle stay with them. I thought that was a little weird.
  • Really nice pilot. Makes me want to look more of it.

    9.0
On my search for some new series to watch and I came to this one and I pretty much enjoyed the Pilot. It has interesting characters, nice writing, a nice main character and the final scene is just heart warming. You have some glimpse at what might be connected to the main plot (the guy in the pickup), you have a lot of room for character development not just regarding Kyle (learning pretty fast about the world), but also regarding the whole family (like his influence on the lives of the whole family). I am looking forward to see the rest of the first season.
  • I really enjoyed this episode...

I have recently started watching Kyle XY and I thought the firstepisode was great. There is a lot of story and drama but it is also funny. The whole episode was entertaining. my favourite scene was when Kyle learnt how to speak it was hilarous. I t was wierd that he doesn't have a belly button lol made me laugh. Its great seeing him learn stuff. I cant wait to watch more of the show and I cant wait to see what Kyle gets up to next. I also like the way the show is crossed between Teen Drama and Sci-Fi its very different to a lot of other shows out there.
  • A teenage boy is found, he has not learned to speak, or how to interact with others,he has no clothes, no name, and no umbilical cord is he weird, strange, human?? Kyle is the name he's given, and he is taken in by Nicole Trager and her family.

    9.2
I loved this episode, it was really interesting, the whole notion for this show is intriguing. Can you imagine what it is like to be a baby? we cannot remember the frustration of being hungry and not knowing what to do, or the need to urinate and not know how to control ourselves, or the need to understand what people are saying, when words still have no meaning to us?? It is traumatic and frustrating, and it is no wonder we don't remember these feelings, they must be so scary we repressed them... It was amazing they way he leaned how to satisfy hunger, the way he felt relief after urinating, the way he asks for juice. note: When Stephen explained the rat traps, about not wanting rats in the house and Kyle says "so you kill them" did you not get the impression that some time in a future episode there may be a person who is not wanted in the house, so kyle may try to kill that person?? Hmmmm, made me wonder. Is he autistic, he has amazing abilities, the drawing he did with crayon spots, the data e remembered from the PC to recover the image. His whole insight on things such as music. Similar to how an autistic person views the world, however he isn't really human is he?? no umbilical cord... he is like superman, but instead of super strength he has a super brain!

Most emotional bit of this episode... help me mom... snif snif... we've all been there. Who is the creepy guy in the pick up truck?

Any way this episode was really really good, can't wait to see the next one. A very original show. I enjoyed it a lot.
  • The world will never be the same after you meet Kyle XY.

    10
The show starts with a teenager, naked, all alone in the woods. We are presented to a scene where he grabs a dangerous snake, leading us to know that he doesn't know what a snake is. He'll go into the city after scaring a girl and her boyfriend in the forest. The police soon grabs him into a juvenile facility. There he'll learn what's a shower, and some other things. The psychologist Nicole Tragger is called to the center to see this 'special kid'. After seeing his amazing drawing abilities, Nicole decides do take him home, to take care of him closer, thinking that juvenile center isn't the right place for him. The Traggers, composed by Steven, who's married to Nicole, and their two kids Lori and Josh, will be presented to this strange and different teenager, who they call Kyle, but reveals so many wonderful abilities, even though he still doesn't know his existence. A great misterious and first episode to a show that rocks completly. It's really true, the world will never be the same after you meet Kyle XY.
  • A different show! I love it!

    8.5
The previews for the show made the show look pretty good. I tuned in mid season and it has taken me forever to get a friend to cough up her dvr'd episodes of this show. So now some of my questions are finally answered!

Kyle shows up from out of nowhere. He doesn't have a belly button which is kind of weird considering I would be questioning how he was nourished as infant in utero but then you see the slime and realize he may just have been born the way he is! He does a good job of endearing himself to the family that takes him in. As usual, it's a good and exciting beginning to what became a great show!

  • A enjoyable surprise than what I thought it was going to be.

    9.0
I have heard of this show, and thought it was going to be a cheesy 'family television' show. I actually had time to kill and thought I would give it a chance. Low and behold, now I am hooked on it and am looking forward to watching more episodes. Because there is issues of drinking, parties, sex and all the other fun stuff that comes with growing up, it relates more to the older crowd (which I am sad to say, I am there). I like the chemistry of the actors, and Kyle (Matt) himself, is very believable in his 'I have no idea what is going on role'. Good job, you've got another fan.
  • One of the best Pilots I have seen in years. Introduced to a great cast, strong plot, and enough twists to keep the viewer watching.

    9.9
I have to admit, when I saw the promo for this show I really didn't intend to give it a chance. I didn't even see this episode when it first aired, not until I got the DVDs. But I have to admit I am really glad that I decided to give the show a go.

Even though he has no memory, speaking skills, and hadn't had the best start, with waking up in the woods and getting locked up. Kyle has a worm, loving, and honest character about him. Matt Dallas did a wonderful job at expressing Kyle's emotions without speaking through most of the episode. The family dynamic was nice, and to an extent, more realistic than other TV families. Each of the characters were well enough constructed that they felt real, they didn't seem like they had to feel their way to who their character was.

Loved how they ( Josh, Lori, Steven ) all fought the idea of Kyle being there, but after he is able to help them they all decide he isn't dangerous and want him to stay.

I wish more shows could have Pilots as strong as this one was. I'd also like to add that the original unaired Pilot was not all that bad either.
  • This is going to be a wonderful show. I know I'm a little behind, but I hate to start watching something in the middle.

    8.9
Matt Dallas is wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him being adventurous, ever learning, and take everything in. I am not too fond of April, hopefully as the show prolongs I will have a different view of her.

I have seen Bruce Thomas before in two films, not big blockbusters but good ones, "A Boyfriend for Christmas," and "Just Desserts." I did a great job rendering his characters in both films, as well as performing wonderfully as Stephen Trager in "Kyle XY." Of all the actors so far I like Matt and Bruce.

When Amanda's, Kristen Prout, mother comes over to the Trager's house you instantly the connection between Kyle and Amanda. Something will happen between those two.
  • This pilot is like an arrow that obliges you to see the next episode...

    9.6
I'm not going to waste time recaping the episode, which by the way I congratulate whoever did the recap because it is fantastic. Good job! I just want to say that this pilot episode was one of the best pilots I've ever encountered. The simple existence of a family with its own problems and the disrupting of its harmony by a teenager that sees everything as if it were for the first time is simply captivating. The way Kyle experiences things makes us look differently at the world that surrounds us.

The mystery envolving Kyle's naked "birth" is promising. Pending over the whole episode is an aura that pulls us in, that makes us want to share the characters feeling.

In the end, as a way of saying thank you and accepting Kyle in their home, Josh pours him a glass of iced tea, lori and stephen serve him some vegetables and smashed potatoes. This moved me alot.. And it told me, "You have to keep watching"...

So I think this couldn't be a better pilot because a good pilot is the one that obliges you to tune in on the next episode.

I loved it... Just loved it...
  • A good and interesting start to the show!

    10
For a while I dodged watching Kylexy because of too much else to watch. I always liked the sound of it and when I finally watched this I enjoyed it very much. I really liked watching him experience all these things and learn these things. I liked the way he earned all the familys respects! The only thing was that kyle was a bit weird at times but obvioysly that was the point. It also had humour which I wasn't expecting. It seems to have alot of potential. So overall enjoyed it and will definately watch the rest of the season!
  • Kyle XY is trying to copy Smallville, open your eyes people.

    7.0
Many people might get mad at me for opening their eyes to the obvious but people just have to know that Kyle XY is trying to copy Smallville so much its pathetic. Beside the fact that Kyle plays a super hero, Matt Dallas (Kyle) looks so much like Tom Welling (Clark) I'm surprise there hasn't been a lawsuit already. Many people don't know that Clark's real name is Kal-El which sounds a lot like Kyle. I'm not going to lie that it is a good show but if I want to see someone saving the world I'll just wait till Smallville comes on, because it does come on the same network.
  • Kyle wakes up on the woods with no recolection of who he is. The psychologist, Nicole Trager, takes him home in hopes of helping him. Slowly Kyle feels at home with what becomes his family.

    10
The pilot of Kyle XY is an instant success. It is one of those episodes that touches the soul. This episode shows the importance of family and acceptance. It is great for everyone that has the maturity and the patience to understand the pain and the values of life. Many may feel that some of it's contents are inappropriate. However, I disagree. The issues of sex and other "inappropriate" material are significant to show how a family and people can overcome all inflictions. I believe that this show, Kyle XY, will demonstrate the importance of what the indivual can do.
  • Nicole Trager, a psychologist, comes to examine Kyle and then takes him home. He gets on the bad side of both Trager kids, Josh and Lori, and annoys Stephen, Nicole's husband. But one by one, Kyle influences them to accept him.

    9.6
This was the first episode of Kyle Xy. In the begging of this episode i felt bad for Kyle because he was getting yelled at by this dude and also because the Tregers ( besides Nicole Treger ) had a hard time accepting Kyle because they thought that he was weird and inhuman like. Josh Treger even thought that he was an alien. Later on we see a man in a red truck ( Tom Foss ) With the file of Kyle. Tom looks suspicious like if he has something do with Kyle which is true and will be revealed further on the series.
  • An awesome show and an awesome start!!!!!

    10
I just love this episode because it's starts the whole show and reaveils everything that Kyle XY is so awesome. KYLE XY follows the story of Kyle, who is found disoriented in the middle of traffic and then taken to a detention facility. Later, Nicole Trager, a psychologist, comes to examine him, and then takes him home. He gets on the bad side of both Trager kids, Josh and Lori, and annoys Stephen, Nicole's husband. But one by one, Kyle influences them to accept him.
  • First one yesssss!

    10
Kyle wakes up in a forest. Like he was just born. He doesn’t know anything and starts without any knowledge of who he is or how he came to where he woke up. He gets taken by the police and placed in a young penitentiary where he shows a total lack of any social skills but some unusual skills. Oh my gosh I knew I should not have listen to the reveiws from the kiddos. This episode is very good, just kept you wanting more. It takes a lot for this girl to become a fan and now I am one!!!!
  • A boy wakes up naked in a forest and starts without any knowledge of who he is or how he came to where he woke up. He gets taken by the police and placed in a young penitentiary where he shows a total lack of any social skills but some unusual skills.

    10
I really really liked the episode, it caught my attention almost immediately and I was hooked really badly - I think I watched all of season 1 in less than a day after I saw the first episode. It somehow reminded me of Smallville but without Superman of cause :D

It is a show that speaks to people because it is about a boy that is special and most of us really want to be special or wish we were anything other than being plain normal. But it also shows that being special isn't the dream that "normal" people want it to be.
  • Great pilot!

    8.5
Kyle wakes up in a forest. He doesn’t know anything. He is put in an institution. Nicole and her family take him in. He learns to eat, drink, and talk a little. Someone is stalking Kyle and has his file. This was a great pilot for this mysterious show! It really made me interested in what Kyle was. It made want to watch the next one to find out more about him. It introduced the family and Amanda as well. The only problem was some of the content, but for the most part, it was great. This was a good pilot and it gets an 8.5 from me.
  • A hit in the making...

    9.5
Imagine what it is like to be a new born baby. Every experience, every sensation is new and unfamiliar. The world is effectively a blank canvas waiting to be painted. Now imagine that the body of that infant appears to be the body of a teenage boy. Introducing Kyle XY. Kyle is not your average person. He has lightning fast reflexes, extraordinary aptitude with visual association, and a savant like ability to comprehend the world mathematically with unequalled recall. He learns at a rate unparalleled by anything known to man.

Kyle first demonstrates his superior reflexes by catching a rattle snake mid strike mere moments after he first awakens in the forest. He later uses these reflexes to rescue Lori Trager (daughter of Nicole Trager, a social worker who takes Kyle into her home) from a police officer who broke up an illegal party to which she had snuck off.

He first demonstrates his visual association by using crayons to draw an image of two young lovers he encountered in the woods outside the city with a precision comparable to a photo printed by a color printer.

He most clearly demonstrates his savant like comprehension when he completes an aptitude test that normally takes an hour in under five minutes, and later exceeds this feat by memorizing computer code displayed on the computer screen after Stephen Trager (Nicole's husband) spills coffee on it shorting it out. He then types in the code into a laptop recovering the lost data.

All of this pales in comparison with the fact by the pilot's end, he was speaking English reasonably well...in a matter of three or four days.

Overall, Kyle XY has great potential as a series, and I have great expectations for it. Look for this on to become a hit series.
  • A good pilot as far as a cheap cable series is concerned...

    8.5
The pilot for "Kyle XY" is an interesting one. The story is intriguing and fairly well-written. Some faults include the fact that this is a cheaply made cable series, and some of the actors are a little bad. The mother is a likable character but is given a lot of horrible, corny lines. The father seems like a bad actor period.

Anyway, the episode begins much like the previous FOX series "John Doe" - a boy wakes up, completely naked, in the woods, not sure of who or where he is. He wanders into town and is arrested, and taken to a juvenile prison-type place until they can do something with him.

This boy cannot speak and is like a child in the body of a teenager, and he has no belly button. However, he learns many things by mimicking others.

A woman comes in to help the boy, who she names Kyle after he responds to the name. Amazed by him, she takes him home to a less-than-thrilled family, who by the end of the episode finally accept him - he rescues the girl from an officer with somewhat "advanced" fighting skills, and by somehow fixing the computer for the dad.

The show has some cheesy moments that make it feel like a rejected 7th Heaven script, but overall it's pretty entertaining. The sci-fi element is fairly small in this episode but will obviously become more prominent as the show progresses and more is learned about Kyle.

Along with the questions of how Kyle can learn to speak so quickly, and how he has all of the skills he has, is the question of who is the mysterious man seen following him. No doubt some government agent or something along those lines...

The show is pretty good for what it is. If you need a sci-fi show to watch, checking this out wouldn't do any harm.
  • A nice introduction to an interesting show.

    9.5
When I first saw previews for the premiere episode of Kyle XY, I have to say that I was intrigued and wanted to tune in it to the show to see what it was like. And after watching it, I have to say, I found this pilot to be a good intro to a new show.

As the story progressed for the episode, I have to say that I enjoyed the way Kyle quickly learned in his naive state of mind, how to talk and act like a somewhat normal human being, especially after he moved in with the Trager family.

What I liked the most about after Nicole brought Kyle home from the facility he was at had to be the family's reaction to having a "mental patient" living with them for a few days. I thought it was interesting how her kids and husband didn't like him that much, due to the weird way he was acting. But it wasn’t until Kyle began to help out Stephen, Lori, and Josh with some of the things in their lives that helps them realize Kyle isn’t crazy, just an individual who is facing a world that is new to him.

Another thing that I enjoyed about the episode was the various comical parts where Kyle was learning how to adapt to his surroundings, especially when he followed Lori to Declan’s party and got into the fight with the police officer. I thought it was a nice addition to the character introductions of the series.

In all, I found this episode to be an entertaining introduction to a nice new show that’s on the air right now.
  • Kyle was found in the middle of the woods not knowing what was around him or what to do. He was sent to juvy but was offered to be taken care of in the Trager household.

    10
Pilot was the very first episode of the Kyle XY series and it was actually pretty good. At first I thought of it sort of weird but i ended up really enjoying it. It had like a couple of funny parts that made me laugh. Although, overall it is great watching how Kyle starts to learn from the people around him while still not comfortably knowing what is going on.
  • A boy is found in the woods, with no memory and no knowledge of natural human behaviors. After time in juvy, he is taken in by Nicole Trager; her family reluctantly takes him and, after accepting him, attempt to unravel the mystery that is Kyle XY.

    10
Amazing. Kyle XY is going to be a great series, as this pilot episode proves. The acting is great, the plot is grounded and fabulous, and the mystery of Kyle (though just starting) will definitely be something that will capture audiences. The first time I saw this episode was on iTunes as a preview- at first, I didn't think I'd be into it. But I watched it, an hour long, and then I watched it again! Definitely an amazing episode- and I'm sure there's many more to come. Kyle's interactions with the Trager family are positively amazing, and the ending of this episode is fabulous.
  • This show is great and deserves a second season. It's made me actually watch ABC Family.

    9.0
I have so far watched the first five episodes, and am completely hooked into the show. Have the 6th Tivo'd and am probably going to hit it up in a minute, the only reason the show doesn't garner a 10.0 is because the premise is taken straight from John Doe. Instead of a early 30's man with amnesia, its a teenager. The youth angle gives in alot of more interesting ways to go. I was upset when FOX continued there pattern of cancelling great shows without giving them a chance, so when I caught the first episode of Kyle XY I was psyched. The acting so far has been rather impressiv., I didn't have to much faith in a show on ABC Family but my unfair generalization has been completely disproven. The story lines have been good, the topics they've tackled so far have been a little suprising to me, I thought they were a little more risque than a show on ABC Family would deal with. Give it a try.
  • Wonderful show! I just dicovery it las week (cause I live in Brazil) and love it. Already saw all episodes so far, and I can\'t wait to next one.

    9.8
Wonderful show! I just dicovery it las week (cause I live in Brazil) and love it.

Already saw all episodes so far, and I can\'t wait to next one. Matt Dallas play his role very well and \"Kyle\" with his innocence is adorable.

This first episode cath me, from the beginng until the end.

I was "in love" for the show just like Nicole Trage when Kyle ask her to help him and call her mom.
