  • We learn about the past of the Section and Nikita has a decision to make.

I honestly did not liked this episode too much - I just did not enjoyed that Adrian's storyline at all but it was informative - we learned much more about the Section and the truth behind Operations' past came much clearer.

So, Nikita has a choice to make - help to save the world by destroying the Section as, by words of Adrian, she claims that Operations is using the Section to gain power and soon he will have too much of it. And Adrian uses her power to show that she can help Michael or kill him - so, Nikita has to make her decision.

She goes with destroying and she has to go for places she did not know, (at least we were not shown them before), lie for her friends.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Goof: Nikita has a new security system in her apartment which allows her to see who is at the door. But she didn't have it when she left Carla alone in the flat in the previous episode, so did she have it installed for Carla in her absence?

    • Twin Sighting
One of the twins comes to Nikita's apartment and helps Carla abduct her. They both come for her after the Sauvage Mission.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Ray: Look, I don't want to get in the middle of any politics, here.
Madeline: All we do here is politics. If you don't want to get in the middle of that then I suggest you return to the Department.

    • Nikita: (aswering the phone) Hello?
Adrian: I need to know, dear, can I count on your support? I can't promise this is going to be easy. There's a lot at stake, you know that don't you? Nikita?
Nikita (after a long pause) Okay, what do I do next?

    • Nikita: (when told Operations means to kill a man he's supposed to protect) I don't believe you.
Adrian: No, I don't suppose you would. After all the only coping mechanisms you have intact is that Section protects the innocent. If you didn't believe that you'd have been gone long ago. One way or another.

    • Adrian: Sit down, please.
Nikita: Why don't you just quit with the English gentility and tell me what you want from me?
Adrian: Together my dear, you and I are going to destroy Section One.

    • Walter: Adrian founded this place. She's the mother of Section One.

    • Madeline: (to Operations) What we had, has been over for years, the other night doesn't change a thing. I think you need to face that.

    • Nikita: What was she like?
Walter: Let's just say that Adrian is the only person Madeline has ever been afraid of.
Nikita: Hmm, so she chose Operations.
Walter: Choose him? Huh! No, Operations took control himself. And it was a bitter struggle. Left Operations with a whole of enemies and a whole lot of power.

    • Operations: You confuse me Madeline. If you don't want to enjoy my company, why did you agree to open things up again?
Madeline: I didn't open anything up. I slept with you. There's a difference.
Operations: Okay. Then why did you sleep with me?
      Madeline: Because you wanted it.
      Operations: And you didn't?
Madeline: That's irrelevant. The foreplay was becoming a distraction, to both of us. It was affecting your work and your decisions. And, in turn, it was affecting mine.
Operations: That's especially cold, Madeline, even for you.

  • NOTES (4)

    • Sian Phillips is perhaps best known for her role as the Roman Empress Livia in the classic BBC miniseries I, Claudius. Like Adrian, she is ruthless in achieving her goals, but her goals are based on her desire for power, rather than her need to take the power out of someone else's hands.

    • There is a deleted scene from this episode included with the season 2 DVD set. It's the final scene between Nikita and Carla before Carla's death. Carla tells Nikita that Adrian wants to see her again.

    • The arboretum where Nikita meets Adrian is the same structure that was used as the homebase of Brutus in the episode "Last Night", but this time we see the interior, not the exterior.

    • Music Used In This Episode:
"Gun" - Gus Gus (when Michael tries to find an abducted Nikita)
