  • Most philosophical dilemma how much can machine be human and not much the usual things we are used to see.

    6.2
Honestly, I do not think it was bad episode - it was different and it tried to built a deep philosophical dilemma about that super computer they found. Filmed almost ten years ago, even now, they do not have computers with AI that level that they could learn by themselves. But for me, as I study IT, this AI problem sounded very interesting and with the knowledges I had, this episode was intriguing to watch.

First, for me, the computer was too much like human. No computer could be so logical... and the way Madeline thought she understand it, just by her logical thinking and her knowledges of interrogation, it seems to be little too simple. But I loved the way they tried to make a trap for computer put ended up being fooled themselves.

On the other hand, Nikita is having quite catching storyline, when she gets captured while trying to check on girl, who might be hurt on the mission as she got into the fire. She almost makes her captured to believe her story, but then phone rings and - Josephine is called. Loved that part.

So... we do have more screen time for the super computer who fools everyone else than on chars. That's why I think on the usual quality, it was weaker.moreless

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Birkoff: (fascinated by the Brutus AI) I think it's messing with our minds, it's trying to rattle us!
Walter: It's doing a pretty damn good job of it!

    • Operations: (referring to the AI Brutus) How will you approach it?
Madeline: Like any other prisoner. Get to know it, find a weakness.
Operations: Are you so sure it's a weakness?
Madeline: It's been programmed for a purpose. A purpose is something like desire, and desire is always weakness.

    • Madeline: It can never be what it was.
Operations: It can be more than it is.
Madeline: Let's not go into this again.
Operations: I can't go on living in twilight. It has to be day or night.
      Madeline: I don't like ultimatums.
Operations: It's not an ultimatum, it's an invitation. My last...
