  • The Scariest Thing

    10
    "Perfect"
The scariest thing is not that series creator Joel Surnow believes in the "necessity" of what Operations does.

The scariest thing is that a significant percentage of the American public agrees with him.

Surnow reincarnated arch-villain Operations from "La Femme Nikita" as "hero" Jack Bauer in "24," giving a government torturer who ignores due process his moral and political seal of approval.

Much of the public agrees. Hence the popularity and longevity of "24." Popular entertainment is a reflection of the public's collective unconscious. It reveals where the public is emotionally and psychologically.

    A perfect 10 -- for a perfect illustration of what's wrong with today's US government.moreless
  • Looking for Michael and meeting his present.

    "Superb"
So, Nikita is alive and did not got canceled after what she did (surprising as they are used to cancel even much lesser mistakes), but they are not done with her. They try to kill her turning her mission and keep Michael away. But Nikita survives the plot, comes back but with help of Birkoff, she tries to find Michael and get his help.

So, she has to fool a co-operative, go back to the down where the files are, get the place where Michael is and go - she ends up in a nice and lovely house, knocks on the door, just to have a lovely woman opening the door. She is sure, she is on the wrong place, until we just hear Michael's voice and he is holding his son. Shocking and unexpected but that kind of very unexpected plot turns - I love them.

So, now we learn about the story behind Michael's past and maybe we are explained why he did not wanted so much to have a relationship. He says it is a mission but it seems he do cares and it is logical.

So, they did this again - started new season with really promising start.moreless

    • The terrorist group for Nikita's mission in China is called New Path.

    • Goof Nikita and the rest talk about there being three witnesses, but there were four guards present during the stand-off. Is the last guard so very trusted by Operations that he isn't a factor?

    • Madeline and Michael have new, shorter haircuts, for the third season. Operations has also changed his look, dyeing his hair platinum blond and cutting it into short spikes.

  • QUOTES (15)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Madeline: (After they decided to keep Nikita alive and knew Birkoff was the one to give her information) What about Birkoff? Operations: No, no, he'd be too hard to replace. I can control him

    • Nikita: You going to kill me? Operations: Adrian and the Gemstone file are behind us. A full inquiry was made and there was no connection between her death and Section One. Oversight is no longer interested in this matter. Nikita: You killed the rest of my team? Madeline: They were all abeyance operatives. Nikita: And Ferreira? Madeline: He as well. It's true our original intention was to eliminate you. That's been changed. Nikita: Why? Operations: You're no longer a threat to us.

    • Madeline: What are you doing here? Michael: I'm going to offer you an alternative. Madeline: To what? Michael: I don't think you want to see the Section destroyed. But that is what will happen if you don't abort this mission. Madeline: Why? Because you think this made a difference? (she shows him a bug that was planted) Next time, Michael, pick your conspirators more carefully. We fed Birkoff false information. You'll never be able to link us to Adrian's death. Not as long as I'm here.

    • Michael: What are you doing here? Nikita: Is this for real? (he says nothing) There's something going on in Section. I need your help. Michael: What's the problem? Nikita: Pierce and Dechy are dead. Operations is trying to kill me. He wants to wipe out everyone who witnessed Adrian.

    • Nikita: (finding out about Michael's home and family) I didn't know you had a child, Michael. Michael: A lot of time has passed.

    • Nikita: What exactly is Oversight? Birkoff: It's the board. The only entity Operations has to answer to. Nikita: Can they shut down the Section? Can they shut down Section? Birkoff: More like incinerate.

    • Madeline: (after Nikita makes it back to Section alive) Don't get impatient. It's unfortunate but it was a one time event. The percentages are on our side; it'll be taken care of soon. Operations: I don't want Michael anywhere near here until it's done. Madeline: He won't be.

    • Operations: George is starting to poke around. Madeline: Has he mentioned Adrian? Operations: Her name's come up. He would not be happy if he knew the details. Madeline: No, he wouldn't.

    • Nikita: Where's Michael? Walter: I don't know, he left this morning. Why? Nikita: I need to talk to him. Walter: Talk to me. Nikita: Walter, not this one.

    • Operations: It won't take long before she puts it together. If she hasn't already. Madeline: She hasn't. Operations: Dechy, Pierce and Pollock were the only witnesses to her aborted insurrection; now they're dead. Madeline: No matter. She's going out this afternoon and that will be the end of it. Operations: And Michael's not a variable? Madeline:I've made certain that he's occupied. Operations: Has he seen the profile. Madeline:Yes, before we changed it. Operations: Good. Just make sure she doesn't return. Madeline:She won't.

    • Nikita: I haven't seen Michael in a while. Has he been reassigned somewhere else? Madeline: No. Nikita: Where is he? Madeline: Home, I think. Nikita: Home?

    • Birkoff: Dechy and Pierce didn't die by accident. Neither did Pollock. Neither will you.

    • Nikita: Michael... your marriage to Elena. What is it? Michael: It's a mission.

    • Nikita: (about Elena) She's an operative? Michael: No. Nikita: She doesn't know. Michael: No. We're after her father. Nikita: So you're deceiving this woman to secure your cover? Is the child yours? Michael: Yes.

    • Operations: (On Nikita) Why is she still alive? Madeline: Apparently, we trained her too well.

  • NOTES (4)

    ADD NOTES
    • According to director Jon Cassar, the character of George was added to the show in order to give Madeline and Operations someone to fear, since fear is the basic premise of the show.

    • There was a deleted scene included with the season three DVD set showing Nikita following Michael home and seeing him with his family after the stand-off in Section over Adrian. They meant to use it in the second season finale End Game, but they decided not to use it. They recycled the idea for this episode, using different actors for his family and a different house.

    • There is a deleted scene from this episode included with the season 3 DVD set. The scene with George is shown, the only change being another actor in the role of George. The actor, Jan Rube (who speaks with a German accent), was deemed to be too unintimidating for the role, and it was recast at the last minute.

    • Music Used In This Episode: "Temple Caves" - Mickey Hart (in China) "Vector Tribe" - Gearwhore (in the teaser, as the wounded are brought in)
