  • Organizations such as Section should not exist

    8.0
First Nikita, then her mother, is presented with a "Sophie's Choice." Series creator Joel Surnow implies that such choices may be tough, but they are "necessary" in the harsh world we live in.

Wrong. These dilemmas are bogus. They are setups to force us to conclude that such "lesser of two evils" choices are moral and "for the greater good."

The reality is organizations such as Section create the very evil they are supposed to prevent. The CIA created Osama Bin Laden to fight the Soviets. He did just that. But as soon as he was done, he turned around and fought the US.

No. When Section or Jack Bauer tortures people, it is NOT "for the greater good."moreless
  • Moving and really emotional episode, giving us the look to the past.

    9.3
First things that came into my mind with this episode is how moving and emotional it was - Nikita's and her mother's storyline - understandable, but also the storyline what Walter had, maybe even the Jamie storyline. Anyway - many emotions, one higher than other.

I never thought they would bring Nikita's mother into the play, but lately they have someone become more and more personal with the characters (like Operations' son last episode). Another goodbye. Another leaving. That how it goes.

The memory of Nikita - they dancing waltz in that alley. Their good-bye... just super.

Something here caught me, amazed me and I love the feeling what I have after watching it.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Walter: (speaking to a woman he thinks is a former girlfriend) I work at a place that doesn't exist. No, I mean, it exists... It sounds crazy, doesn't it? I work for an organization called Section One. (changes his mind about confessing all) It's not important, not now.

    • Nikita: Michael... I just wanted to... say thank you. That's the kindest thing you've ever done for me. Thank you.

    • Roberta: Nikita. Nikita? I was never a mother to you. You know, when I... I think back to our time together, I feel like my heart is ripping out. That I am so ashamed. I... What I need to say to you, sweetie. The reason why I tried so hard to find you... That wasn't me. This is me. And you are in my heart. You have always been. And you always will be. You know, I am sure, there is one memory in there, a fallen memory, and when you try really hard enough, you can find it. Please, I want you to find it. Please, take it with you.

    • Nikita:(about Nikita's mother) So what will we do?
Michael: She is not going to stop until she finds you.
Nikita:(almost crying) I know how this has to end. I'd just like to see her first and... talk to her.
Michael: None of this is going to happen.
Nikita: Why not? Because they tell us that can't. You know that my all life I lived with a mother who was drunk, she couldn't hear me, couldn't talk to me, but... the other day I saw her, it was like... I saw her for the first time. And all those horrible things... Just gone. I have never seen her like that. Please, let me do this. Please. She needs me to forgive her. That's why she is looking for me.

    • Nikita: I need a favor. Something from my old life's come up.
      Michael: What?
      Nikita: My mother.
      Michael: What about her?
Nikita: She's been looking for me. She doesn't believe I'm dead.

    • Jamie: Did you tell them I screwed up in the alley?
      Nikita: No, not yet.
      Jamie: Good, don't.
Nikita: (grabs him by his jacket) You do not talk to me like this, Jamie.
Jamie: The one thing you were always good at- making deals. Pack of cigarettes, place to crash, remember?
      Nikita: What's your deal?
Jamie: Simple - you help me, I'll help you.
Nikita: You don't have anything I want.
Jamie: Umm, what about your mother?

    • Michael: It's yours. I'm down tomorrow.
      Nikita: Yeah.
Michael: You want to spend the day together?
Nikita: Well, I'd like that Michael, but I've already made plans. Perhaps some other time?

    • Jamie: Are you going to help me out here or not?
      Nikita: I don't know, yet.
      (long pause)
Jamie: I could use some help, from a friend.
Nikita: I'm not your friend! I was never your friend, Jamie.

  • NOTES (2)

    • There is a deleted scene from this episode included in the third season DVD set. Nikita confronts Jamey after he messes up in front of Madeline, and Nikita tries to cover for him. She tells him that he won't make it unless he starts applying himself, and learns what they are trying to teach him. The director thought it was a good scene, but they had already covered the same ground in other scenes, so they decided they didn't need this one, since they had to budget their time carefully.

    • Guest stars Margot Kidder and Janet Kidder are related in real life. Margot is Janet's aunt.
