It's A Family Affair
AIRED:
Erin does a heroic effort to save a woman from a burning building. At the same fire scene, Kay detects evidence indicating that this is the work of the arsonist: a key to an academician club. Jack and Mike are really not getting along at all. They compete in everything and Jack is a sore loser. Dick appears to be critical to Erin's every move and disapproves of the way she dresses. Erin gets angry and accuses her father of being a drunk. Bernie is working hard on the arsonist case. The similarities between all the burned-down houses are that they were apartment buildings inhabited by minorities. The media is focusing closely on the case and the upper police boss, Brodie, lays down the law to Bernie. Michelle Goldstein tells Bobby that the D.A. has offered him a good deal but Bobby refuses to accept it. Ray goes completely ballistic and tries to persuade Bobby to go ahead with the deal. Kay gives Bernie the key she has found. Erin goes to Chief Deputy Al Morrison and requests a transfer; she can't stand working with her father anymore. As a couple of kids are playing hide and seek, a fat boy manages to get stuck inside a drain-pipe. Kay tries a very unconventional rescue method; the sound of a chainsaw manages to scare the overweight boy so much that he manages to free himself. Helen tells Jack she's planning on moving to Seattle where her brother lives. It's time to move on, she hints. Wing, an Oriental shopkeeper who has been repeatedly robbed, goes crazy and starts shooting at some robbers. Dick manages to get Wing to hand over his gun but the strain makes him collapse. The doctor has a clear message for Dick: if he wants to grow old, he's got to stop drinking right now. Later, the arsonist strikes again and Fire Co. 132 comes to the rescue. Kay saves Jack's life at the fire scene. But after the fire is out, the weakened roof falls down on J.B. and Erin...moreless
