Show Summary

Body artist Kat Von D has left Miami Ink and is setting up shop in her hometown of L.A., and TLC has its cameras on her to capture her success... or failure. Even though she's one among many tattoo parlors in the City of Angels, Kat's reputation precedes her. But can she learn how to balance her professional and personal life in a place where it's easy to get distracted by the glitz and the glamour?

Seriously, why on Earth did they create this show - isnt Miami Ink enough? More importantly why do people do this to their bodies? People in their teens and 20's put this grafitti all over their bodies then wonder why they cant get decent jobs later on and must spend thousands of dollars to have doctors remove their "art".

Some people are covered with tattoos - art school students end up being qualified for jobs with the circus, adult book stores or a tattoo shop - thats about it - Hells angels member too - forgot about that one. Of course doctors love this trend as tattoo removal has become a booming business. In some cases people spend tens of thousands of dollars having them removed. America, what a country! Ugh.........moreless
  • A good show about Kat Von D and her amzing shop, staff, and mainly art. Loads of drama included.

    9.0
I love tattoos. I have loved them for as long as I could remember, and this show is just amazing for people like myself. The beautiful and talented Kat Von D really completes the show. I watcched Miami Ink when it first came out, and it really just didn't cut it for me. This show was just so much better. The drama sometimes gets to me, and gets a little irritating, but it's worth it for the point of the show, and the amazing ink featured. Kat has come a long way too, from the drinking, to the original VERY awkward narrations, there is so much that has been improoved on. It's a good show to follow, especialy if you love the art.moreless
  • A reality show starring famous tattoist Kat Von D.

    1.0
Kat Von D is a world renowned tattoo artist from LA. She began her career at the tender age of 14 when she bought a tattoing needle, and started experimenting on herself and her friends. She was a natural and quickly got a job at a downtown tattoo shop, proceeding in developing her unique talent.

Although well known in Rock & Roll circles and of course, in the tattoo business, she only rose to most people's attention when she got a job at "Miami Ink". Following her fallout with the shop owner, she hastily resigned. She was popular with the viewers though, and immediately signed a deal for her own show: "LA Ink", which was a big success.

In watching "LA Ink" you get a peak inside the tattoo business with its many colorful personalities and partiers and celebs. As one of Kat's employees said in season 1: "It's not a job - it's a life style."

I fell of in season 4 - it was too plotted, and in a nasty way: they hired Aubrey just to harass her and create drama. The real face of Kat apeared and it was not very nice at all.. Anything for a quick buck TV..I'll never watch it again.moreless
