Back in LA, Kat is pretty pleased to be home after being in Miami for so long. Now she gets to settle back into her way of living once more.

Of course after doing what she has been doing, she doesn't want to go back to working for another artist, now that she's home she wants to work for herself, creating her own tattoo shop.

The design that she wants, a photobooth, skateboard ramp, dancing pole; plus the amount of rock 'n roll designs on the walls don't really seem that nessasary in a tattoo shop; but it's LA and it's what Kat wants. So now that her plans for the shop are underway, Kat still has to work, so she starts by visiting her client's homes and doing tattoo's there. Though she also has to look out for staff as well, and she has 3 names at the top of her list that she wants to work in her shop; Corey, Kim and Hannah. The idea is there, the tattoo artists are there, but we'll have to wait until the shop is opened to see what's going to come about.moreless

So Kat is back in Los Angeles, her home. She instantly seems way happier than she was in Miami. She has this idea to open her own shop in Hollywood and goes to a friend to help her with construction. Her idea for the ship is crazy, she wants a photo booth and a skateboard ramp and a rock and roll feel with guitars on the wall. Basically fifty pounds of crap in a ten pound bag. But the guy said he can do it. In the meantime she still has to be tattooing and goes to clients homes and uses a friends shop to get the work done. Her favorite designs are those that reflect LA in some way and gets to do a few including the downtown skyline. As the shop gets worked on she treks around looking for artists to come work for her.moreless

I started watching Miami Ink a while back and was super excited when I heard about LA Ink. I tuned in for the first episode and was not disappointed.

I started watching Miami Ink a while back and was super excited when I heard about LA Ink. I tuned in for the first episode and was not disappointed.

Welcome Home Kat was a great start to a fabulous new show! Cameras follow Kat as she travels the country finding new artists to work at her new shop. Kim, Hannah, and Corey are the artists she has in mind. After convincing them that working at High Voltage Tatoo really was the ideal thing for them, they finally agreed. High Voltage was an awesome shop with an awesome family to go with it. Blood-pressures rose though as Kat found out from her best friend Pixie, that construction at High Voltage wasn't going so well.moreless

A really good first episode

I thought that this episode was a really great way to start off the whole LA ink tv show. I really like how Kat's doing her own thing in her own city. Good for her. I really like all the tattoo artists that are going to be on the show and working in her shop. I like all their personalities. I really admire their skill and reputations as individual tattoo artists. With artists like these working in her shop, Kat is gonna have alot of business. I really like the theme song too haha. It's kinda similar to Miami ink, in some ways, but who cares? I like LA ink better.moreless
