L.A. SportsCenter is currently the flagship show for ESPN. It runs up to a dozen times a day, giving game scores from the day and replaying any game highlights. It also offers sports commentary, previews, and feature stories. L.A. SportsCenter is broadcast from ESPN's studio located right across the street from the Staple's Center. The studio is basically in the Staples Center parking lot, offering the studio great visibility, as well as access to premiere sporting events and star athletes. L.A. SportsCenter has proved to be one of the most durable shows in television history. The first episode of SportsCenter aired in 1979 and it has been going strong ever since. In April of 2009, ESPN opened the west coast studio in the L.A. Live complex and began broadcasting L.A. SportsCenter. SportsCenter has been aired more times than anything other show in American history and has tens of thousands of original episodes.
