    • Steve, Dan, and Mark don't seem to have a walkie-talkie in this episode, leaving the others to wonder repeatedly what's going on. In many previous and subsequent episodes, usually one of the men has a radio that they can contact the ship with.
    • Bolgar, like Inspector Kobick, now knows the exact complement of the Spindrift. How? And like Kobick, he seems to be ignoring other Earthlings like the four boys from "The Lost Ones."
    • Within walking distance: yet another, previously unseen "Police Security Headquarters", and a bank
    • 50-year technology gap: "ion" explosives
    • Mark's shoulder is injured and he goes on about it for some time. However, after being rescued he does some heavy lifting and great deal of twisting and turning and climbing without noticeable effects. Later, when he lures Zarkin out, he is clutching at his shoulder again.
    • Traveling from his office, Obek manages to get a court order and get to Bolgar's office in the space of maybe two minutes tops of passing on-screen time. Despite that, it takes about five minutes for Bolgar to escort him to his car parked outside.
    • For this episode only the giants' phones now have 7-digit numbers, although previous episodes like "The Creed" and "Seven Little Indians" showed them to have 6 digits (as do subsequent episodes). The Giants even have the typical Hollywood "555" prefix!
