Talf Ekorb's name says more about his character than you might think: when each word is read backwards, it spells "Flat Broke." Similarly, the wife's name becomes "Also Broke," and their son's name becomes "Lad Broke."
The hearing aid is the same size whether an Earthling is holding it or a giant: roughly palm-sized. In other words, it grows when a giant holds it and shrinks when an Earthling does.

Mark: (getting sentimental) You know, there have been times since we crashed here that if I never saw any of you again, it'd be too soon. Now, with the spaceship gone... well, there was always some hope before.
The shell-interior set was the same one used in the movie Dr. Doolittle, with Rex Harrison.
The cave set that Mark and Don take refuge in is the same one, right down to the position of the rocks, used in episodes like "Framed," "The Weird World," and "Target: Earth."
The Spindrift gets moved in this episode, but not very far. Conveniently, the location it's moved to looks pretty much the same as the old one.
