  • Events in this episode make it a little hard to watch for the weak stomached, but a definitely well written episode.

It was amusing to watch hard core marine Danny McCoy nearly lose his lunch over the finger, but even more so to 'hear' him actually lose it on the ride. It showed a side of Danny that one wouldn't expect as he is usually given the tough guy role. Hinting at the 'abuse' given to a whale was something that I think could have been done a little better, but I like that it was kept to a minimal. As usual the cast as a whole pulled the whole episode together and left you satisfied with what you've watched. I'm quite interested to see if we'll be seeing more of Jamie Pressly or was it just another tease into Ed's past.moreless
  • Good Story to get Wayne in the Episode.

    8.9
Overall a great Episode to watch, no ties to the next or previous episode. Which is what I look for in a good show. This was my first show I watched and I loved it. The jump from Deal or No Deal was awesome. But I think they showed the finger to long. Made me sick.
  • A nice episode with two storylines: Danny is the poor guy in one of them and in the other one we get involved with slave traders. Nice done.

    9.0
Las Vegas takes in slowly this time. Danny has to deal with Monica’s friend. At their lunch she bites on a human finger. That was disgusting. So Danny has to take care of her, so she doesn’t sue the casino. He really has to do everything, so tells Ed. It gets harder for Danny form Minute to Minute. Especially because everything looks like Danny has to sleep with her. At the end we find out, that she only played with Danny. She even has the million from Monica. She still has it. That surprised me and shows that she’s a much better person that we all thought. She didn’t spend all the money immediately. And she doesn’t sue the casino this time. She doesn’t need to.

The finger story is full of brutality! Ed handles the case quite well. I liked that. Well the thing how the finger got in the food – I looked away. Sure they didn’t show everything, but it’s extremely brutal. What I liked about the whole story was that Ed passed out during watching the video! I don’t like Mike very much, so I thought it was really funny that he’s a bit al looser in here.

The special guest Sam has to deal with turns out quite funny too. The domination issue is a bit surprising for Sam, but she can handle her self quite well. That Delinda likes the whole thing even more – we knew that. Delinda had always a bit a special connection to “such stuff”.

Then there are the two new girls. Both somehow have a connection to Danny. First the new barkeeper Danny met in the strip club. Well there always might be something between them, I mean in the future sometimes…

The other girl: The blond one. She’s there because her father somehow knows Ed. She really checked Danny out. I don’t know if this was for good, but I’m sure we’ll see her again soon. She will cause trouble, that’s for sure.

I liked this episode, even it wasn’t that special.moreless
  • Las Vegas is headed slowly downhill

    3.5
I was hoping that the move to Friday night meant, finally, some decent t.v. on Fridays. Unfortunately the series continues its unfocused descent towards cancellation. It resembles "Love Boat" more and more, so much so that they even played the Love Boat theme at one point.

Skipper James Caan telephoned in his performance -- he really had nothing to do.

Passenger 1 is Ed Begley Jr. as a whale who likes to be abused, in the most nauseating and ridiculous subplot yet filmed on LV. Passenger 2 is a rather unattractive fat girl who discovers a human finger in her mouth while eating the shrimp. Danny has to play another "laugh at Danny isn't he ridiculous" subplot, while attempting to get the woman not to sue the casino for $10 million. As part of her "give her anything she wants" night, Wayne Newton comes to her hotel room to sing to her in person, but she goes to the bathroom in the middle of the performance.

The other guest "star" is Howie Mandel, which is right there more vomitous than finding a finger in your shrimp bowl. His only apparent function is to plug "Deal or No Deal".

As the show gets softer and softer, the mandatory crime subplot, with the three boys showing their face hair, becomes more and more vestigial. This one is downright lame, as Ed spends a total of two forced minutes bringing the bad guys to justice.

The show has become a shadow of the hard-hitting action-drama-with-fun-moments it started out to be. This kind of disappearing character and drifting center is unfortunately typical of a show on the way out.moreless
