  • The same tired schtick using a caricature of a city.

    5.5
    Where to start?

Okay, there's a runaway welsher from Vegas who heads to New Orleans to try another high-stakes game there. Montecito Vegas employees pursue so that he can make good on his debt.

    1. They just happen to show up during Mardi Gras, which is great for them and ratings. They keep calling it Carnival for some reason. Isn't that in Brazil?

    2. Everyone has either a Deep South accent or Cajun. wtf? You would have thought Hollywood would have learned its lesson with the movie "The Big Easy" which is just as guilty. Very few Cajuns live in the city proper.

    3. The baaa-you and swamp just happens to be 10 minutes from the city. There we meet Jethro, Buckhump, and Jebediah Omekiel, the Cajun casino employee's brothers, who are stunningly rude and fleshly inflated.

    4. The welsher escapes on a streetcar from the Quarter, where the streets are packed with people. Nevermind...

    5. A lot of horrific "New Orleans" philosophy is spouted.

    6. The only music in NOLA is zydeco / Cajun, apparently, unless Little Richard blesses us with some tired riffs.

    7. Voodoo Queens reside in plenty of shops of mystery, ready to provide mystical advice at the drop of a nickel.

    8. The Mardi Gras costumes consist of Eyes Wide Shut masks, which is creepy and lame at the same time.

Well, this was therapeutic. At least one out of every 10 shows about the city manage to get something right. This one got everything wrong, and was pretty painful to watch if you know anything about the city. C'est la vie, cher!

Hopefully the show can just go back to showing all the people winning, winning, winning in Vegas. Where does the money come from? Oh, yeah, it comes from all the gaming losers they don't feature as guest stars.moreless
  • Not bad.

    9.1
Ed, Danny and Sam all go to New Orleans to track down a client who wons them big money. Anyway at New Orleans they got to another chain of casino, the same chain Danny and Ed work for. Anyway we are introduced to the man who runs that casino and his crew and how they handle security differently to Ed. Overall it was well written and it wasn't that bad. Dennis Hopper was pretty good in this episode. This show sure is getting a lot of guest stars anyway looking forward to the next episode. Really liking this show now.moreless
