  • Ed takes a vacation

    9.4
I thought that this was a great episode of Las Vegas. I thought that it was really funny that Ed told Danny that he was going on vacation but i reality he ws staying at a crappy motel playing tricks on Danny. It was great that Danny figured it out and played a few tricks on Ed. It was also great that Mary kissed Danny and he started freaking out about her messing with him too. It was really funny that a guest thought Mike was his good luck charm. I thought that it was really nice of Sam to continue to treat the wrong people with speacil treatment i would have done the same thing. That couple seemed to be very nice and deserved it unlike the real whale.moreless
  • Hmmm.

This episode got dangerously close to becoming stupid it was completely bothing like most of the other episodes. Although i have to say by the end of it i was impressed. Ed tells Danny that he is going away on vacation and want to leave Danny incharge. But we soon learn that Ed is infact testing Danny to see how he handles himself. Ed organises some silly things to happen and also Danyn recieves two kisses from two of his girl friends. Anyway overall i thought this was a good episode very original but a little silly. It was good when Danny got his revenge at the end of the episode.moreless

this is not the greats episode. ED acts a little chilesh even for him but having Danny run things and having ED still be in the city watching and testing him is a good ieda for him a bunch of thing happen to Danny thakes to Ed which i find intersting to see and Mike being a good luck chrm is also funny all of these storys rolled in to one make for make a big batch of fun for everyone the is a good not great episode and that is all it is and nothing more that is all is have to say END.moreless
  • When Ed is going on an vacation, Danny has to be the boss of the casino, but Ed's not really on a vacation but he wants to test Danny! And Danny has to work it all out and when he founds out it's a test, he's going to mess with Ed also.moreless

well it was a brilliant episode! I really liked it when the girls tried to make him a little bit insecure! Ed is really in a motel and tests Danny with all sorts of things. When he is in Ed's office Delinda comes in and starts to kiss him and wants to 'do it' on her father's desk and when Danny agrees with it, she stops and she is just messing with him. When Mary kisses him he asks if she is messing with him too, but she says no! The keys to the doors don't work because Ed did something to the system, but Danny figures it out and start to mess with Ed too! Ed hires some guys to use a monkeypay in the casino and in the end he has the money that was stolen. Danny also has to deal with some old people in wheelchairs, they are doing a favour to Ed with making a mess in the casino! In the end when he is back Danny has made his office look like Hawaii and on the screens stand: Wish you were here and then you see Danny smiling and after all he did a good job!!moreless
  • Big Ed 'takes a vacation to Hawaii' while leaving Danny in charge. Unbeknown to Danny, Ed is really in a cheap motel pretty close to the Montecito.

This episode was, for me, one of the funniest episodes of any TV series I've seen in a long time. Ed 'takes a holiday' but secretly takes his wife to a cheap motel (she's thrilled about it). After a rather hilarious moment in Ed's office with Danny sitting with his feet up on Ed's desk and Sam and Ness playing havoc with him, we see Mike bring over all the necessary equipment for Ed to be patched into the Casino's security system. This allows Ed to successfully coordinate his various attempts to cause havoc in Danny's day.

As the day progesses, Danny realises that Ed keeps calling him straight after something bad happens and that Ed is testing him to see just how much trouble Danny can cope with. Danny tests his theory by pulling up a weather forecast of Hawaii on his computer, ringing Ed and asking him what the weather is like. We then see Ed looking at the exact same website from his computer and responds that the temperature is exactly 83 degrees. Danny reads it off his computer and smiles. To further test his theory he has a tow truck tow Ed's Hummer from the motel, and as it is towed, he rings Ed. Danny asks him if he's alright or if he's being driven insane which immediately makes Ed curious, but obviously Ed can't say anything about the Hummer because that would give away the fact that he's not abroad.

Ed organises a couple of attempts to undermine Danny's confidence in his own ability to run the Casino, and by far the funniest is when Ed's old friends in their mobility carts start setting off all of the alarms in the casino. Towards the end of the day everything seems to settle down, but Danny still reckons that Ed has tests left to carry out, and remembering an old military quote 'checks all of his defences'. He asks for an image of the loading dock to be displayed on a TV screen and notices that the uniforms of the delivery people do not match the name of the delivery company on the side of the van. He goes down to investigate, but upon having a gun thrust in his face, realises that Ed actually has nothing to do with the heist. He is thrust in to the back of the van, where he meets one of the real delivery men. The scene then cuts to the back door of the truck being opened by Ed.

The casino is searched but the two criminals are nowhere to be seen until Ed realises they went underground through the sewers. Danny and Ed team up and race in Danny's car to the exit of the sewer pipe where they jump the two bad guys and retrieve the stolen jewels. Back at the casino, Danny is about to leave, when Ed mentions that someone 'in Hawaii' mentioned using an old technique to rob a Montecito gambling machine and made off with some money, and Ed just happens to have the bag. Danny remembers that he was unable to get his hands on the bag, but still mentions that he is going home. As Ed goes up the stairs to his office Danny quickly walks to the exit with a childlike smile on his face. Ed enters his office to see that it has been transformed into a Hawaiian oasis, Hawaiian music and all. And to top it off, Ed's plasma TV reads 'wish you were here' which is then followed by an animated orange/red Hummer being towed away by a tow truck driven by a smiling Danny. The episode ends with Ed sitting down in one of his new Hawaiian chairs and smiling.moreless

    • Ed:I love the smell of Metamucil in the morning! It smells like victory!

Big Ed has sent an army of troublemakers into the Montecito, disguised as elderly people in wheelchairs. When they succeed, Ed belts out this line, which paraphrases a somewhat longer quote from 1979's Apocalypse Now: "I love the smell of napalm in the morning...smells like...victory."
