  • Another great episode that never falters

    9.8
The episode has three main plotlines, Danny trying to get back $100,000, Ed and Stallone looking after a restaurant owned by the mother of a staff member at the Montecito, and Sam, Nessa and Delinda all trying to become a contestant on Fear Factor. Each one is hilariously funny.

It's not thoroughly explained how Nessa manages to try and manipulate Joe into allowing her onto Fear Factor but we see Delinda and Sam's attempts at it. Delinda walks upto Joe at eh bar with a tray of disgusting things on it. She eats them and explains that one is something fermented which makes you want to puke, she drinks some of it and looks quite bad, she eats something that looks like maggots and then finishes it off with pig rectum, yes pig rectum (cue extreme belching and vomiting). Joe looks horrified and to top it off, Delinda says, "Now I realise that these things have already been done on Fear Factor but how many people have done it wearing a full dress." and then she does a twirl to reveal the dress she's in. Joe looks like he's gonna throw up and Delinda excuses herself to more than likely do just that.

Sam's attempt is exactly what you'd expect from Sam, she leads him into the kitchen towards one of the freezers saying that she of all people realises that it's about visions. She opens the door turns to face him and opens her jacket to reveal her nipples. Joe certainly enjoys it and the scene ends there. At the end of the episode Joe reveals that he is not actually allowed to appoint contestants because that would make him bias. This upsets all three of the girls but understandably Sam and Delinda more than Nessa. It's hilarious.

Danny has to spend the episode trying to reclaim $100,000 that a marker owes the Montecito. He spends ages trying to track down where the person is only to realise that every name he has come across is a fake until Mike points out that the guy he's looking for is more than likely holding on to money for someone else so they should try to find that person and then they'll find the original person they're looking for. This works and Danny finds the guy he's looking for who has spent the £100,000 he owes the Casino on a nice new Mercedes, which Danny promptly takes from him and puts it in the Casino as a prize for anyone who wins a competition.

Ed and Stallone however have the best plotline of the episode. They try to protect the mother of an employee who is an illegal immigrant running a restaurant called 'Di Guiseppe'. Stallone tries to recruit Ed into setting up a date for him and another woman which is rather funny to watch. Stallone watches the restaurant from inside while Ed stays at the Casino, and Ed watches him on a recording beating the hell out of the man trying to collect a protection racket for the restaurant.

Ed decides that the man Stallone beat up is just an employee of someone bigger so they head down to this man's haunt and beat the hell out of his crew in order to find out who his boss is. Stallone prooves his strength by breaking a baseball bat over his leg with ease. I was half expecting Stallone to either fail or complain about the pain but he didn't. It turns out the man's boss is an old friend of Ed's who threatens him to clean up his act or he'll tell their other old friends that this guy is running his own money-making scheme in Vegas.

The relationship between Ed and Frank (Stallone) is suprisingly good to see play out, I hope he returns for more episodes but I doubt that'll happen. It's a thoroughly good episode, the only reason why I didn't give it 10 was because I feel I given out enough 10s for a while. This episode was really relaxing and entertaining to watch.moreless
  • Funny episode, great plot, classic Vegas!

    9.4
LOL to Sylvestor Stallone as a guest star - he had some great scenes. The episode also had Joe Rogan as a guest star being chased by all of the women to get a spot on Fear Factor. Nessa charms him at a bar, Delinda eats disgusting food and Sam drags Joe to a freezer in a tight white tank top. Stallone's character was hilarious - big meathead with a soft side and cooks a great manicotti. The episode had a great pace, moved along with some classic scenes (Danny at the stripper's door) and was a great one to watch. As always, LV rocks!moreless

Joe: You make a pair of very good points.

    • Frank: In the end all you've got is your memories.

    • Frank: I was gonna sit in your chair but I figured it was rigged with some kind of ass recognition sensor and I didn't want to set off alarms and blow myself up.

    • (About the surveillance equipment)
Frank: You know this is going to cost.
Ed: 'Course it's going to cost...you think I expect this to come out of your pocket? What do you figure?
      Frank: 200
Ed: 200!?! What, are you getting it off the back of a truck?!?
      Frank: That's thousand.
Ed: That's thousand? What, are you getting it from the Pentagon?!? This isn't a government job. I'm lookin' to catch a couple o' meatheads.

  • NOTES (3)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Ed: So this is how you spend your time now?
Frank: No, I have taken up knitting. Give me a few weeks, I'll knit you a sweater that looks like it was bought in a store.

That was the rehabilitation program in the Cryoprison for John Spartan (knitting) main character of Demolition Man by Sylvester Stallone.
