It remains to be seen if the genuine ecological and moral issues of the plot lines are well served by such a cartoon-like treatment. Leaving aside the specifics of fracking, the very real dilemma faced by many persons today to earn an honest living at a job that may not measure up to their personal moral code is a serious one. It seemed to be reduced to a lower than usual common denominator here with an upper middle class suburban teen having to use the back yard to "do her business" like her father taught her.
Everybody has a few cheap laughs and she gives up the protest in exchange for a slice of take-out pizza. Classy.
