    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Though he's absent from this episode, General Montcalm reportedly arrived on the scene when the massacre was taking place and his subsequent actions prevented things from being much worse.

    • QUOTES (8)

      • Hawkeye (about the massacre): I've seen many a hellish sight, Chingachgook, but never the hand of a devil as plain as to be seen here.
Chingachgook: The Hurons will not boast of this to their squaws. They bring shame on the heads of all red men. Before the winds of autumn have blown away the smell of their blood, they will pay.

      • Munro: Find my child.
        Uncas: Uncas will try.

      • Hayward (about Magua): He was taking Miss Alice?
Uncas: Only by taking her could he be sure the dark-haired one will follow.

      • Hawkeye (to Munro): There ain't no one to equal Uncas when it comes to finding a trail. I sometimes think to his eye even the humming bird leaves its mark in the air.

      • Magua (about the massacre victims): They lay like pine cones in the forest. Who can count the pine cones?

      • Hawkeye: You think this is some kind of judgment on you?
Munro: I feel as if God is mocking me.
Hawkeye: It ain't God who's mocking you, Colonel. It's the Devil who's got at you through Magua.

      • Magua (about Uncas): We will load the back of this Mohican until he staggers under our bounty and then we will dispatch him after our young men.

      • Uncas (to the Hurons): The heated waters will not bring the dead Hurons to life! Tumbling rivers wash their bones! Their men are squaws! Their women owls! Go! Call together your Huron dogs! Let them look upon a warrior! Let them see how a Mohican can die!
