Seth Green, Andy Serkis, Rodney Crowell & Emmylou Harris. Comedy bits included included Conan's Finnish connection with a campaign ad for Tarja Halonen, "Celebrity Survey," and the significance of a leap second.
In the past few weeks and months, it has been brought to Conan's attention that Late Night is quite popular in Finland, as many Finns come to New York and attend tapings of the show in person. Again, he points out his resemblance to Finnish President, and shows a campaign ad supporting Tarja Halonen.
The ad consists of Conan and two other people sitting on a frozen lake ice fishing. They converse talking about the large size of fish and comment on the growth of people as well. Conan questions if the fish would be as abundant if either of Tarja's opponents were President, and then says that "Fish can sense poor leadership." Together, they agree Tarja is the clear choice and the fish adds, "Stay the coarse."
In this edition of "Celebrity Survey," Conan published information he learned from a recent "survey" he "sent" to several celebrities. His survey was sent to such celebrities as President George W. Bush, Kirstee Alley, Clay Aiken, Larry King, Nicole Richie, Stevie Wonder, Dick Cheney, Tony Danza, Paris Hilton.
Conan mentions that this year on New Year's Eve, an extra second was added to the day to compensate for the Earth's slowing rotation. Joel condems that ideaology saying that "You'd be amazed at what a man can accomplish in one second. They cut away and when Conan asks Joel what exactly that is, Joel doesn't answer. The camera returns to Joel, only showing the dangling feet of Joel after he hanged himself.
