    • Lenny: You're not still upset about what Squiggy said, are you? Cuz he don't know nothing, he don't mean nothing.
      Amy: He's right, I am a dummy.
Lenny: Don't say that. Now, I've been around dummies all my life.
Amy: Well, I go to a special school.
Lenny: Yeah, well, I was in special classes too. Yeah, I took remedial reading. You ever take that one? Boy, I was so hot there they kept asking me back.
      Amy: You're just being nice.
      Lenny: No, I'm not.

    • Lenny: (Amy's upset by a letter Edna left for her.) What's the matter, what's it say in the note? (Amy backs away from him) Alright, you don't got to show me. It says Amy on there, it don't say Lenny.

    • Squiggy: She's not a regular girl.
Lenny: Boy, you're telling me. She's really something else.
Squiggy: No, that ain't what I mean.
Lenny: Well, what do you mean? Spit it out!
Squiggy: She's a retard, a dummy! (Amy cries and runs out.)
      Lenny: Amy! (grabs Squiggy)
You know who the dummy is? You are! (shoves Squiggy against a table so hard, it falls down)

    • Lenny: (Amy gives him the letter her mother wrote her.) "Amy, lock yourself in the"...what's that word?
      Amy: Bedroom.
Lenny: Your mother makes funny B's. "Tell Lenny he should go. Don't let him touch you." Your mother thinks I'm going to hurt you.
      Amy: But, I don't.
