After a high-speed police chase comes to a sudden end, horrified officers discover the body of a dead woman, but no driver, in the car. Detectives Morales and Jaruszalski suspect her jealous boyfriend, but he offers information that leads them to her job as a bookkeeper for the city and a possible scandal which could be implicated in the woman's death. Meanwhile, DDAs Dekker and Rubirosa attempt to maintain order in East Pasadena as the case gains publicity and citizens begin to mobilize in protest.moreless

Its working for me

I, for one, am really happy with the revamped Law & Order: Los Angeles. I realize it may very well get canceled regardless, however, having seen the way the new cast works- I feel the retooling was worth the wait. Alfred Molina is a terrific world-weary lead detective and I find that I enjoy Corey Stoll more as of late. I always have a soft spot for Alana De La Garza as Connie Rubirosa- so needless to say, I'm not mourning the loss of Regina Hall and Megan Boone too much.

This episode was enthralling- the pacing and cinematography was perfect. TJ and Morales have a great begrudging partner relationship. While I enjoyed the re-premiere, now that the dust has settled, I can say that if NBC gives LOLA a full run, it has my full support.

PS: No I don't forgive you guys for canceling the original... just sayin'moreless

- Parts of this episode were ripped from the headlines of the city council corruption scandal in Bell, California. In mid-July 2010, the Los Angeles Times published an exposé, which revealed the small city of Bell's (pop. >40,000) mostly working-class residents paid extraordinary high taxes that were funding lavish salaries for all their government officialssome more than half a million dollars per year. The city council members, with part-time jobs, were being compensated $100,000 per year. Angry residents crowded council meetings and protested for months to demand answers, restitution and justice.
