  • Trivia

    • Goof: The defense attorney mistakingly refers to Martinez as a man at one point, while Orlando Ramirez was on the stand, even though they were told to refer to the victim as a female.

  • Quotes

    • Tracey Kibre: (to defense attorney Ana Mendez) You wanna deal, go to Bloomingdales, their winter sales started this morning.

    • (About the defendant's attorney Ana Mendez)
Tracey Kibre: She used to work here.
Kelly Gaffney: She was a prosecutor?
Tracey Kibre: Yeah, good. One flaw. Sometimes she thought the defendants were telling the truth.

    • (Having heard the suspect's confession)
      Kelly Gaffney: You believe him?
      Tracey Kibre: Do I ever?

  • Notes

    • Unfortunately this was the last episode. NBC cancelled the series, due to low ratings. Law & Order: Trial by Jury was the first scripted Law & Order series to get cancelled. Crime & Punishment, Law & Order's real lawyer show, was the first of the franchise to be axed.

  • Allusions

    • This episode appears to be based in part on the story of Gwen Araujo, a young transgender teen who was brutally killed in October of 2002.
