Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yuschenko was poisoned with dioxin during his 2004 election campaign. The culprit is unknown, although his political opponents are suspected. Yuschenko became severely ill and had to be hospitalized; the most visible effect of the dioxin was his facial disfigurement, known as chloracne.
