When a celebrity doctor is found murdered, Goren and Eames find themselves investigating the man's church and his ties to performance-enhancing drugs.
  • The episode was pretty damn good, but some of the aspects of it is what really excited me; though has also made me anxious. Warning: Spoilers!

Ok, so in all, great episode. This makes A LOT more sense now; that this was originally supposed to be the season premiere. In the beginning, Bobby was with some sort of "family" and Alex was coming back into town (from visiting family I assume) as well. It sucks that they're playing them out of order for whatever reason. =/ But now that I know this was supposed to be the season opener and not the one they started out with, well, much better!

So, like I said in the forums, I honestly didn't know who did what until later on into the episode. I loved it. The case isn't whats on my mind though...

So, in the beginning and very end of the episode, we saw Goren "around" family. Although the ending was only a letter from Molly as well as some pics, it has me wondering; it's what is making me so damn anxious. Bobby told Alex later on in the episode when he pulled up a pic of her on his lap top that it was his niece. Well, I know that's got me thinking along with a lot of other LOCI fans. Could it possibly be his kid?! But then a lot of questions come up about that. If it was his kid, why is he just seeing her now when family seems to be so important to him even though his family is screwed up?! Perhaps he just found out he had a child?! IDK, a lot of possibilities there. Or, a few other rumors is that it was Frank's and he never told anyone and Bobby just found out about her, or something to do with Mark Ford Brady. I know that if she is Bobby's, he never would have went off on frank in "Untethered" about how their mom would've loved to have known that she had a grandson. Of course, then maybe Bobby didn't know? Or wanted to keep it a secret? A lot of questions this episode brought up. I can't wait to see how this is going to play out for the rest of the season. When they put 3 different scenes in about her, you know they have to bring it up again. Like I said, possibly in the season finale?!

Anyway, in all. It was good. More so than the first one (can't remember the name of it).

  • A well known physician who worked for a pro sports team is murdered. The main suspects are his wife who was having an affair, the minister and his wife from their well to do church, and an acolyte who was a friend of the minister's wife.moreless

Goren and Eames both seem to be returning from a short time off. Goren had visited family out West and we get to see a nice scene of him receiving pictures from his trip at the end of the episode.

This case was a little more heavy handed then usual. First they accused the wife rather forcefully right after they carted off her dead husband. Then they created a scene at the funeral reception the day of the funeral. It just didn't seem to be their usual quality style of doing things.

The wife was having an affair with the minister who obviously was neglecting his wife who was aware of the affair and had the acolyte kill the doctor for a completely unrelated reason to the affair which sort of confused what the motive was in general. It seems she felt he would bring unwanted negative publicity onto the church she and her husband had built together.

When all the smoke clears on a very intricate situation the obvious person is the wife of the Minister who has a Masters Degree in Speech Therapy. The look on the doctor's wife was too convincing for her to be lying about making those calls.

The acting is always good but overall this was a little simplistic compared to the usual Goren and Eames cases. Thanks for reading...moreless

    • Working Title: "The Faithful" This episode was perhaps renamed because it duplicated season one, episode four's "The Faithful," although the plots are very dissimilar.

    • Although prior to the break a press release announced that Criminal Intent would be scheduled at 10:00 pm E/P on Thursdays – opposite sister network NBC's ER – by the time it hit the schedule, USA had shifted it to 9:00 pm E/P on Fridays. USA then delayed the scheduled November 7, 2008, season eight premiere (at that time, this episode) in early November to "Spring." They announced and began advertising in January that April 19, 2009, would be the official start to the season. However, none of the three episodes that had press releases issued for the 1st scheduled season eight were part of the starting lineup ("Faithfully," "The Glory That Was," and "Folie à Deux").
