Now, I have a question of my own (LOL). What was the song played during last night's (May 21st) episode, "Renewal" at the opening?

The song is 'Empty' by Ray LaMontagne.

I listen to it a lot too! Ray LaMontagne = awesome (for the record, he's really good live and in my opinion the rest of his music is great as well...).

Hey! Great detective work guys. Well, we did learn from the best after all! Goren and Eames would be proud. What ep was the tattoo in, if you can remember?

LOL...I just saw the ep tonight. We see the tattoo in Homo Homini Lupus, near the end when Bobby shows the Serbian guy the sketch of the tiger tattoo. Alex gets up and turns for the door, and there it is. Now I think I should add "You remember questions asked 6 months ago on the CI board" to the thread about being obsessed.

I would like for somebody, somehow, to get it across to thewriters of law& order: CriminalIntent -

on the episodes wherethe mother is dying of cancer, please have the doctors stop referring the insurance for adults as medicaid.

Medicaid is for children between the ages of 1-18. Medicaire is for adults.

Not true, shross03. From the NY State Department of Health website:

    What is Medicaid?
Medicaid is a program for New Yorkers who can't afford to pay for medical care.

    http://www.health.state.ny.us/health_care/medicaid/#definition

    From Wikipedia:
Medicaid is the United States health program for individuals and families with low incomes and resources. It is jointly funded by the states and federal government, and is managed by the states. Among the groups of people served by Medicaid are eligible low-income parents, children, seniors, and people with disabilities. Medicaid is the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for people with limited income.

    Look,

    I am a children's medicaid caseworker/social worker.

Thedifference between medicaid and medicareis one of the first things our trainers taught us, as I use to be ignorant to this also.

When they say families of, they are referring to the families that apply for their children, e.g caretaker parent, step-parent, or payees etc., not to any random family member. The age limit for medicaid, children's medicaid, which is not only limited to the state of NY by the way is 18. The only time it extends to the age of 19 is if the child/individual happens to be in the hospital on the day of their birthday, in which case it would cover the period that they are in the hospital, and it extends until the end of the month from which date they turn 19.

Medicaid cases are denied out autimatically when a child turns 19. Any children that are on that particular case are removed until the 19 year old is taken out of the PA group.

Correction, I intended to say that any child on this case, children between the ages of 6-18, are placed on hold until the 19-year-old is removed from the case.

By the way this is the information that you left off from the NY website:

Expanded Income levels for Children and Pregnant Women

Infants to age one and pregnant women - 200% of the federal poverty level. Children age 1 through 5 years - 133% of the federal poverty level. Children age 6 through 18 years - 100% of the federal poverty level.

    infants covered by TP 45/43

    toddlers - TP 48

    children - TP 44

    pregnant women TP 40

    From the Social Security Administration:

    "What is Medicaid?

Medicaid is a jointly funded, Federal-State health insurance program for low-income and needy people. It covers children, the aged, blind, and/or disabled and other people who are eligible to receive federally assisted income maintenance payments"

    AND:

"Medicaid is a state administered program and each state sets its own guidelines regarding eligibility and services. Read more about your state Medicaid program.

Many groups of people are covered by Medicaid. Even within these groups, though, certain requirements must be met. These may include your age, whether you are pregnant, disabled, blind, or aged; your income and resources (like bank accounts, real property, or other items that can be sold for cash); and whether you are a U.S. citizen or a lawfully admitted immigrant. The rules for counting your income and resources vary from state to state and from group to group. There are special rules for those who live in nursing homes and for disabled children living at home."

So, shross, you might live in a state that restricts Medicaid eligibility on the basis of age, but not all states do.

ETA: If you check the SSA website there is a PDF doc that lists services by state. States may cover all people receiving SSI payments, people over 65, and those in mental institutions.
