For those of you who don't get USA, NBC will be rerunning the new episodes on Saturday nights at 10 pm/9 pm central (as always, check your local listings, especially if you're in the mountain time zone or on certain satellite feeds). Here are the most recently scheduled airings:

    "Purgatory" – June 21, 2008
    "Contract" – June 28, 2008
    "Betrayed" – July 5, 2008

I'm surprised NBC is repeating the episodes now and not waiting until September, especially since if there is a SAG strike, they can be among the only "new" episodes of any series on NBC next season if so.

So, Vanishing Act was supposed to be on last night (Aug 2) on NBC, but on the regional NBC station that I get (NBC Detroit), a musical anniversary special was in it's timeslot. Does anyone know if Vanishing Act will eventually be played on that station, or if they've just passed it over? I was so dissapointed! I've been trying to watch that episode for weeks (on CTV, it's been pushed aside for Flashpoint =( ).
    Thanks.

Network reruns appear to be discontinued through the Olympics, but they'll play catch up with two episodes broadcast back-to-back on August 30, 2008. More details as they become available.

As far as the Detroit question, I don't have an answer. Hopefully someone from the area can help out.

Oops. I was going to ask "Well, what happens to those of us who live in places where they can ONLY watch L&O:CI on NBC repeats? Because even if they show eps. 7.18 & 7.19 on Aug. 30, we'll still be at least one episode behind (as 7.20 was already shown on USA, and if USA continues to show more episodes DURING the Olympics, the repeats will be even further behind!)."

However, you stated "More details as they become available", so I guess your answer to my question would be "Like I said, when *I* get the details, *YOU'LL* get the details!!". Sorry.

Okay, NBC is being mysterious about some of their scheduled episodes. Here's what's known:

    ? – 8/30/2008 @ 10 pm e/p (Saturday)
    ? – 09/06/2008 @ 9 pm e/p (Saturday)
    "Ten Count" – 09/06/2008 @ 10 pm e/p (Saturday)
    "Legacy" – 09/10/2008 @ 10 pm e/p (Wednesday)
    ? – 09/13/2008 @ 9 pm e/p (Saturday)

NBC has put Criminal Intent reruns in to fill in the gap caused by the Chopping Block being summarily removed from the schedule. It will air Wednesdays at 8 pm Eastern and Pacific/7 pm Central (as always check your local listings), in addition to the irregularly scheduled Saturday night reruns.

What is not clear at this time is whether these are new "repurposed" episodes or true reruns. NBC has yet to name which episodes will air.

The description box for tonight's episode on the NBC Dish Network feed list Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, and Jeff Goldblum as the cast, but no episode name or reference. Strange as I don't think the new epsiodes come out till the 19th on USA.

When I first saw your comment above I thought "repurposed" was some kind of pun or inside joke but when I went to the USA schedule to see that the season premiers of L&O CI and In Plain Sight were set for 4/19 at 9 and 10PM respectively, I also saw that at 11PM was an episode of L&O SVU that was listed as "repurposed". What the hell does that mean??? Never saw that before.

09:00 PM LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT (SEASON PREM PLAYING DEAD

10:00 PM IN PLAIN SIGHT (SEASON PREMIERE) GILTED LILY

My comment a few posts before: They changed the episode to a 2008 one with Christopher Noth now. No more Jeff Goldblum referral.

"Repurposed" is a made-up network word that, in this case, means that it's being broadcast "new" on that particular network before any syndication deals are made. USA owns part of both CI and SVU, and there's reciprocity between the cable network and the broadcast one where an episode of SVU that ran new on NBC runs "new" again on USA 1-2 weeks later. Technically it's not a rerun because it's not on the same network. With CI, the lag is longer and the process is switched so that CI is broadcast new on USA and then repurposed to NBC, where it's new to that network. Clear as mud, right?

NBC, since it refuses to fire Ben Silverman (and he doesn't have the decency to resign and go die somewhere else), continues to have a two-hour block of empty time from 8-10 pm (E/P) on Wednesday nights. The good news for those of you who don't have access to USA is that this week begins the current season of Criminal Intent on the broadcast channel:

    May 6, 2009 – "Playing Dead"

    May 13, 2009 – "Rock Star"

    May 20, 2009 – "Identity Crisis"

May 23, 2009 – "Playing Dead" (Saturday rerun)

    May 27, 2009 – "In Treatment"

May 30, 2009 – "Rock Star" (Saturday rerun)

This is the next set of broadcasts. Please note that the air day has changed from Wednesday to Monday, but the time is still 9 pm E/P (8 pm Central, check your local listings, of course). Also, Saturday reruns are done for the time being as the network burns off their leftover episodes from canceled shows.

June 1, 2009 - No Broadcast (I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here premieres, try to contain your excitement)

    June 8, 2009 – "Faithfully"

    June 15, 2009 – "Astoria Helen"

    June 22, 2009 – "Folie a Deux"
