  • When the mother of two and wife of a large Jewish food business is murdered in her own garage suspicion is thrown on the girlfriend of the husband. Even though they keep the suspicion up that it was her another more logical suspect starts to appear.moreless

They tried really hard with this episode to put suspicion on the girlfriend who was taking the husband for a ride. Unfortunately they didn't do a really good job of that as one would have to have suspected the Mother all along.

Even though the girlfriend was not the nicest person she never really did anything illegal. Matter of fact you couldn't even bring prostitution or even adultery into the picture as it seemed from their examining of the husband that she never traded sex for favors. This man was just a sap and she was a manipulator.

His Mother on the other hand was downright vicious. She tried to have the girlfriends club burned down. She paid off her daughter in law to become Jewish and raise her children as such. Then when her daughter in law was not willing to take the transgressions of her husband anymore and threatened her with taking the grandchildren which she had every right to do, the Mother had her killed. In a double whammy she tried to frame the other women and had the accomplice killed as well.

As Goren said, "She probably doesn't think she even did anything wrong!" It's amazing what people can reason out in their minds when they need to rationalize something.

An OK episode of L&O: CI with good performances by the regular cast as well as Kandi Stirckland as Sandi (with an I) Tortomassi and Ned Eisenberg as Danny Sussman. Thanks for reading...moreless
  • A woman is brutally murdered in her garage. A chief clue is hand size, the kind that can snap necks with a flourish or catch NFL level passes. The detectives' investigation lead them to a stripper, her sucker, a class-A thug, and a mom-in-law from hell.moreless

Oh the exquisite olfactory sense of the darling button nose! Detects antiseptic ointment on a thin thread of gauze. Is there ANY aroma, odor, fragrance, pheromone, stench, or amorphous waft of pure essence that can escape the preternatual expertise of Detective Goren's divine nasal cavity? But, hey, this man is sexier sniffing coffee dust, moth ball crumbs, or cake paste than most are kissing fingertips.

Other than Detective Goren's supremely refined sensibilities (he's the Princess and the Pea personified), this storyline featured a perp with hands even large than Bobby's, tho of course there is a qualitiative difference between vulgar muckhooks and those elegantly fine-tuned appendages that dangle off Mr. Goren's wrists.

A pianist would die for. Me and Tulip, too, :)

Huh?!? Oh yeah, the epi. One of the more entertaining ones,(which I'm not in the mood to spoil) with plenty of megacute (and often hilarious) Goren in-your-face attitude, and our favorite hobbyist-linguist asking, "Kelly didn't have an accent, did she?"

Honey. We all have 'accents'. At least everytime we speak.

(The famous connected pickle dot epi..finally! I was starting to think it was just a promo.)

Best VDO line: There goes that blink rate again!moreless
