  • Silly

I can only imagine the first read of this script by the cast. They must have broken out laughing on how over the top this was. Every minute it tops itself.
  • Hot Mama's Deception

    7.0
A little girl shows a family portrait to Benson telling her that her stepmother likes her big brother, Kyle more than her. And she also told her that Kyle and Mom were playing in bed with no clothes on. That hot mama turns out to be actress Gloria Stanfield. The father is a tempered corporate type. One day him and his wife argue while picking up their daughter. Then, some time later the father is killed by a baseball bat that Kyle had under his bed. When he's arrested and charged. The cops and the ADA suspect that Gloria is covering up. Benson and Stabler head to the hotel with a warrant, but Gloria and the kid left for Washington. When they quickly came back, the cops caught them having sex in bed and told them they're married. Later, a reporter tells the detectives that Gloria's is carrying his baby, but Gloria will take the test with her lawyer. Then, Gloria is in the hospital claiming that she'd been raped by her ex-boyfriend personal trainer. Then he tells them is was all Gloria's idea to have her husband killed, and the baby is his not Kyle's. It looks like she's framing her stepson for murder over some trust fund. If Kyle gives Gloria up he could be killed, too. So, he catches up with Gloria trying to abort the baby and tells her is over between them and the cops arrest her.

I like this episode. It has a good plot. Stepmothers have their power to do sick stuff like this.moreless
  • Some stuff who I didn't like about this episode

    3.0
For example. Can people in authority really attack a journalist to get them to say what they know about something?! They certainly could in in this episode. If I was that journalist, I wouldn't have said anything, when these people trying to force me to talk. They where abusing their power.
  • There's nothing worse than a mediocre episode...

    7.0
Okay perhaps a downright bad episode is worse but mediocre ones always get to me because they have so much potential. This episode certainly had a couple of clever twists (particularly the brilliant move to abuse spousal privilage) and couple of good lines, but overall it was just well boring and predicatable. I also didn't particularly care for the guest star whose name I can't remember at the moment. She didn't have the sex appeal to pull off the role. This is another episode that shows just how sleazy Trevor Langdon can be and the fact that Alex went on a date with him AFTER this episode just makes me wonder what exactly the writer's were smoking when they decided to do that. But, anyway, as much as I think this was a mediocre episode of this show, it only goes to prove that even the mediocre episodes of this show are better than the "best" episodes of most other shows.moreless
  • An interesting episode...

    4.0
When a family portrait painted by a kindergartner leads the detectives to investigate her mother for child sexual abuse of her teenage stepson. This episode was extremely interesting in that the mother was an actor. And this pointed towards a sexual relation. Stabler and Benson are at the scene. Normally I would right a long review, but this interview hardly entertained me. Aside from the entertaining story between Kyle and his mother. To tell you the truth, the fact that the son was abused, it seemed that it was most likely. This episode was sick, and wrong. I didn't like this episode at all..moreless

    • Olivia Benson: (after Kyle issues divorce papers to Gloria) You're a free woman.
Elliot Stabler: Not for long, you're under arrest for murder.

    • Olivia Benson: (to Gloria) Planned Parenthood? You're getting rid of the baby too, I guess nobody's safe around you.

    • Elliot Stabler: You're in love with a boy you've raised since he was ten years old? That's not love. That's pedophilia.

    • Elliot Stabler: Hey, we got your message, there's something wrong with our DNA sample?
CSU Tech Burt Trevor: What did you do to my sperm?

    • Alex Cabot: During the course of their investigation, SVU detectives discovered the defendant left his jurisdiction, violating the conditions of his bail agreement.
Trevor Langan: This was obviously not an attempt to skip bail, your honor, as evidenced by the fact that my client was on his way back to New York before the detectives knew he was gone.
Alex Cabot: The sole purpose of this trip was to travel to the state of Virginia, which allows non-residents to obtain marriage licenses without waiting periods or blood tests.
Judge Ridenour: (surprised) He skipped town to get married?
Alex Cabot: Virginia also allows a person under the age of 18 to marry with the permission of a legal guardian, despite the fact that the defendant was, in fact, marrying his legal guardian, his stepmother, Gloria Stanfield, currently under investigation for child abuse and murder.
Trevor Langan: None of this is relevant to the matter of bail, your honor.
Alex Cabot: But it is relevant to the defendant's trial. This marriage is an attempt to abuse spousal privilege and circumvent the very investigation which may land the defendant in jail.
Judge Ridenour: Whether or not the defendant intended to avoid prosecution, he violated his bail agreement. Bail is revoked. The defendant is remanded. (to Kyle) Congratulations on your nuptials, young man.

    • John Munch: (to Kyle Fuller) You have the right to an attorney. You want my advice? Don't take one that's on your mother's payroll.

    • Reporter: (to Alex) Use your brains honey, why else would she marry the kid?

    • Gloria Stanfield: (after receiving divorce papers from her stepson) You have no idea what you're doing.
Kyle Fuller: No! You're wrong. For the first time I know exactly what i'm doing, Mom.
