ok so that was really weird. that strange super freaky psychological problem thing scared the fire out of me. i mean to think that there is a man that is so obsessed with dolls that he kidnaps girls to make them look like them? go that's weird. call the mental hospital and put that dude in a padded room. it upset me when they were breaking his dolls and the guy was heartbroken and crying (at least i think he was crying) as creepy as it is, it seemed like they were ripping out part of his soul..... if that weirdo even has a soulmoreless
  • This episode was just absolutely incredible. Absolutely MUST-SEE.

    10
An episode that talks a little more about Fin's morals, views, and feelings, SVU tackles another incredible yet sad issue that really talks about an impact a parent has on how their child will grow up as. 'Dolls' talks about a perp who has a motive and point of view that cannot be passed off immediately as 'disgusting'. 'Dolls' talks about a man who kidnaps little children, but not just for the sake of kidnapping, but to save them from abusive parents that may cause grief to their children. This 'perp' has an encompassing love for children, and a hate to see children get hurt. It still doesn't make his actions right, but a topic that touches me. If you haven't seen 'Dolls' yet, you have to get your hands on this episode. You just have to.moreless
  • A great Fin-centered episode, AND we got to see Elliot and Olivia in uniforms!

    9.4
A young girl was found mummified in a dumpster, and the SVU squad try to find the identity of the African American girl, who they call "Cherish Doe." A lead pops up when a mother recently back from rehab can't find her daughter, Nina. Fin is lead to a man who claims he is a social worker and takes away kids from their guardians. This episodes has so many twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. In my opinion, this is probably the best Fin center episode, and he really connected with Nina's mom. I definitely recommend 'Dolls,' it's a good episode!moreless
  • Law and Order Special Victims Unit!

    8.5
When the body of a five year old girl is found, the Detectives of the Special Victims Unit are on the case. They are walking into the investigation blind, because they have no idea who this little girl is. Detective Tutuola thinks that they may have caught a break when a distraught mother claims to have lost her daughter, but DNA proves that the little girl is not her daughter. They then look to another family in which their five year old was taking into child services.

This is a great episode. It opens your eyes to the fact that there are so many kids in the foster care system, that it is possible that some slip between the cracks and no one know what happens to them.moreless
  • I love this episode really much!

    9.2
I liked this episode really much is pretty sentimental, a little child is found dead on a garbage place and the team is ready to act but they are unable to find out who the girl is, later a desperate mother comes for help in order to find her missing child and to find out if the dead child was hers. Later it ends up with many and many complicated travels from one place to another and that is what makes this episode so interesting, I just love it. Is wonderful and it is a wonderful show.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Goof: While Tutuola is speaking with a member of the Narcotics Anonymous meeting, he incorrectly refers to Ronnie Marshall as 'Ronnie Marsh'.

    • This is the only episode (so far) where, as part of an undercover operation, Benson and Stabler are seen dressed in police uniforms.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Olivia Benson: Find out anything else?
M.E. Melinda Warner: Nothing that won't break your heart. Based on the deformity of her teeth, she sucked her thumb a lot. And she loved to jump rope.
Elliot Stabler: How'd you figure that out?
M.E. Melinda Warner: The scuff marks on her shoes. I ruined a pair the same way when I was her age.

    • Terry Jessup: Girls are lucky, they can play with dolls, boys can't.
      Fin Tutuola: I had dolls.
      Terry Jessup: You did?
Fin Tutuola: Yeah ... G.I. Joe, Batman...
Terry Jessup: Those are action figures.

    • (Overhearing Fin and Munch arguing.)
      Elliot Stabler: Lover's quarrel?
Fin Tutuola: It's going to be a domestic disturbance if Munch don't get out of my face!

    • Ronnie Marshall: What's your problem?
Fin Tutuola: Your daughter's dead, and there's not one cell in your junkie body that gives a damn!

  • NOTES (0)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • This episode appears to be ripped from the headlines of the Rilya Wilson and Precious Doe cases. Rilya was a five-year-old who died because she 'fell through the cracks' of the DSS system in FL. Precious Doe was a pseudonym assigned to an unidentified female corpse (presumed to be 3 to 4 years of age) discovered on April 28, 2001, in Kansas City, Missouri, and identified four years later, after heavy media attention, as Erica Maria Michelle Green. Her mother and step-father were charged with her murder.

    • In this episode, the suspect, a doll collector, is lured to the police by informing him that a collector's doll, a Virginia Bell is waiting at a doll shop for him to pick up. Virginia Bell is the name of a stripper of the '50s and early '60s famed for her generous proportions.
