Did a drug cartel murder the escort in Kragen's bed? The method of execution looked a bit like a Colombian neck-tie, the escort who drugged the 16 year old was from Colombia.

That was a pretty weak Secret Service tie-in

Overall i'm a bit conflicted on the one hand this was one of my favorite episodes of all time, it had humans being used as pawns in a private war, various twist, and an unapologetic look at the realities of the legal system when the powers that be are affected, kinda makes you wonder how they can rant on about the law when they have to worry about whether or not their own bosses are following it

On the other hand the ending scene was a bit sensational for SVU

    learned:

    * season-finale sex > sex

    * nice quick glance at Liv's butt from the Mayhem Man for old times' sake

    * that defense attorney's voice: smooth as silk, sweetheart

    * oh Taub, that type of behavior is just gonna land you a third kid.

    * the only way it's a crime is if the goat cheese is rancid.

    * the little people always getting framed by the system...

Hello.. I'm interested in finding out the title of the song in the season 13 finale which aired last night. The song was during the bachelor party at the beginning of the episode... thanks!

Not the best episode, but I liked the cliff-hanger. And loved Dean Winters' character!

Wow - haven't seen a cliffhanger like that since season 8. I'm sure the whole thing will be resolved in the first episode of season 14.

The cliff hanger makes sense when you consider the next season begins right at the height of the presidential campaign. Look for the group that is intimidating the cops to be a bunch of high profile Republican politicians and rich CEO's - Obama's favorite targets.

That's a very interesting comment about the presidential election. The last time we had a cliffhanger where careers were in trouble was the end of season 8. That was 2008 which was an election year. It waould also explain why Cragen cautioned Liv to back down when he got those photos of his undercover work with that russian girl. Normally I would never think that Cragen would back down so easily.

That is no way to end a season!

But I can't wait for Season 14! And to think I was worried that this season might be a flop.....

If you don't think most of these episodes have a political undertone then you're not paying attention. Just compare the race, gender, and class of the perps you see here every week to the ones in real life you can get from DOJ crime statistics. Michael Moriarty, Ben Stone on the original L&O, wrote an excellent article on this a couple of years ago.

And "hi" to GeronimoX, or should I say Wolfpup? We have to stop meeting like this.

I think Cragen and Munch are both likely to go. SVU consistently loses the 18-49 demo to the CSI series by a big margin. I think they'll replace these old white men with youth and diversity.
