  • Ignorant TV Writers

    7.0
How can such an entertaining show not have writers/consultants who are ignorant of guns. I am aware that the L & O shows are constantly biased against guns but the majority of their audiences are not.

    Example from this show:

A little boy is found by Elliot to have been shot and killed and they show a semi-auto pistol beside him and the slide is locked back. In the next scene Olivia asks 'suicide?'. Elliot answers "Not a chance in hell, the gun jammed when someone tried to chamber a second

I could be wrong but doesn't a semi-auto fire, eject and load another round or jam without help?

  • Character I hate the most

    7.5
I can't stand to watch this episode beyond my first viewing. I think the Marilyn Nesbit is the most infuriating character SVU created. Her punishment of being pissed seeing her middle with her older son, was not payoff enough. Not a bad episode, but starring a loathsome character who never repents or even feels remorse, is more than I care to watch again.
  • This is a great episode in which a little boy is murdered by his teenage brother because their mother's paranoia convinced him the boys would not be safe in foster care.moreless

This is a great episode! In this one, a mentally ill woman named Marilyn Nesbitt has two boys, Adam and Jacob. Jacob runs away and is found by Stabler who takes him in. He tells Stabler about the strict rules his mom who lost her hsuband in a murder has. Later on, Jacob is murdered and Marilyn is arrested for killing her son. However, it is revealed that her older son Adam actually killed Jacob and the detectives and Novak must prove that Marilyn's paranoia drove Adam to kill Jacob. this episode is very emotional and heartbeaking! It is recommended for SVU fans!moreless
  • Law and Order Special Victims Unit!

    8.5
Jacob Nesbit is found eating chicken out of a garbage can a block away from his house. When the Detectives fine his mother, Marilyn Nesbit, they find that she is a little over protective of her children. She restricts their diets and does not let them do anything that she doesn't approve of. She even went as far to take them out of public school and home schools them herself. After Jacob makes a frantic call to Detective Stabler's cell phone, they arrive at the home to find that Jacob was murdered. Parents can be really scary sometimes. It is unbelievable how children will act just based on their surroundings. Jacob and Adam Nesbit were brainwashed their entire lives into living the lifestyle that their mother pushed on them. Adam did what he thought he needed to do in order to protect his brother. ACS wanted to remove the kids from Marilyn's care, and this was the only way that Adam could see to ensure that his brother was never hurt once he entered the foster care system.moreless
  • I felt my blood boiling after this episode.

    9.3
How does a mentally ill woman act after the love of her life dies and leaves her with three children? She takes them all out of school, starts to homeschool them, and emotionally abuses them and in a way neglecs them. They don't get to eat anything unhealthy, they hardly ever go out of the house, and treats the little boy really bad. One of her children is taken away and then she tells her other children that he had died in foster care. She makes them scared of the world around them and controls them and manuipulates them into believing nobody is good. The case gets worse when they find the little boy murdered. The woman then brainwashed the oldest boy of the two left that he had killed his little brother when actually she was the perpetrator. They convict the woman after they finally get the boy to turn on his mother. The mother killed the boy because he was always going against her strict rules.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Nitpick: Mrs. Kester told Novak that Mrs. Nesbit was too protective and isolated the two boys. Yet she did not question why Mrs. Nesbit only had Adam with her when she picked them up at the mall.

    • Goof: When Novak confronts Adam about the e-mails, she mistakenly refers to Polly Kester as Polly Nester.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • (Stabler in the interrogation room with Jacob.)
Elliot Stabler: You sure are hungry.
Jacob Nesbit: I've never had pancakes before.
Elliot Stabler: Your mom's never made 'em for you?
Jacob Nesbit: No, she says they're against the rules.

    • (Sitting in a police car looking up at Benson and Stabler.)
Jacob Nesbit: Please don't tell my mom I was eating.

    • Olivia Benson: (to Stabler) The cops tell me that my kid is down at the station, I'd be there right away.

    • Casey Novak: Bringing up Adam with paranoid fears isn't against the law. I mean, you can raise your kid to be a racist so long as it doesn't cause harm.
Elliot Stabler: Well, there's your difference, right there.

    • Judge Mary Conway Clark: You should ask yourself why this kid isn't rebelling against his mother like a normal thirteen-year-old boy.

    • Marilyn Nesbit: Be careful. If you don't live your lives by their rules, they'll come after your kids, too.

    • Marilyn Nesbit: (to Huang) You see, for me, you're just a short little man with a nasty little mind, and you're trying to twist my words and get me to say things. You think I'm stupid. And you're right, I am, for sitting here and listening to you.
