Cops are investigating the murder of a public health doctor in the park, who was trying to expose a pattern of HIV infections. Her husband( Michael Gross), who is a retired attorney wants to find the killer. They close in on this player who infected his partners without telling them he has the disease. But he's ruled out as a suspect when a similar murder occurs at the same park. It turns out that she was having an affair with another man who had sex with an escort. But, he tells the cops he didn't know the girl. The chick is brought in for questioning and points out the photo of the slain woman's husband, who's is part of an identity theft scam. Later, he is caught having sex with the whore before he skips town. He tells the cops that he'd been taking ecstasy to bring back his sex life, and killed his wife because she refused.

Michael Gross wants to feel young again. This was a good episode

A women is found murdered in Central Park. The Detectives of the Special Victims Unit are able to identify her as Greta Esterman, who works as a public-health doctor who traces HIV infection patterns. The investigation starts by looking into Greta's patients, some of whom were a little less than happy to be informed that they had contracted an STD. When Benson and Stabler find that Greta had a background check performed on a man named Vartan Dadian, the suspect that he may be her boyfriend. What they aren't expecting is that Vartan Dadian is her husband's alias, and that he was using Greta's money to satisfy his needs. This was a good episode. It was kinda confusing when the Detectives were trying to trace through Greta's HIV chart. They were talking to so many people that it was hard to keep them all straight. It really made me think about how many people get infected with HIV just because someone thinks that they don't have to protect themselves and their partners.moreless

    • Secretary: We don't take walk-ins. You need a referral.
Fin Tutuola: (he shows her his badge) We got a special pass.
Secretary: (as they start to walk into the office) You can't go in there!
      John Munch: Sure we can.

    • Fin Tutuola: Skip the science test, did it match?

    • John Munch: There's a fine line between the right to privacy and prevention.
Olivia Benson: People have a right to know if they've been exposed to HIV.
John Munch: Yeah, I just get a little nervous when the government starts drawing up lists.
Fin Tutuola: Please don't get him started. He goes off on black helicopters and we'll be here all night.

    • John Munch: Resisting is a parole violation, Roger.
      Roger Pomerantz: Bite me!
Fin Tutuola: We're gonna do a lot worse than that.

    • M.E. Warner: Esterman's blood type is AB, and he's free of any diseases...
      Olivia Benson: So we're screwed.
CSU Tech: You're not, but your suspect is; I'd say on a regular basis.

    • Fin Tutuola: I told you you should've left that mutt in the car.
John Munch: You know how many dogs die in locked cars every year?
Fin Tutuola: You know how many cops shoot their partner and get off on a 'Justifiable'?

    • Arthur Esterman: (during interrogation) I was alive again for the first time in years. Greta was going to take it away. I had to stop her.

  • NOTES (0)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Captain Cragen refers to potential suspect Mario Molinari as 'Typhoid Mario', which is a play on 'Typhoid Mary'. Mary Mallon (September 23, 1869 – November 11, 1938) was known as Typhoid Mary. An Irish immigrant, she was a carrier of typhoid fever although she showed no symptoms of the disease. Working as a household cook between 1901 and 1907, she infected dozens of people, several of whom died. She was quarantined for three years, then released on the condition that she not work with food. She ignored the restriction, again spread sickness and death, and was finally quarantined for life. She denied being a carrier, and finally died of pneumonia. Unlike Typhoid Mary, the character Mario Molinari was fully aware of his condition and was consciously spreading it.
