When three year old remains are found buried in a shallow grave, Detectives Benson and Stabler are called in on the case. They first suspect the previous owners of the property. It seems that the Dr. Stanton lived there with his wife Abby, and then his new wife Pam, once Abby left. Abby then mysteriously disappeared and the Detectives think that Abby may have been the victim. When Abby is found to be in an AIDS hospital the Detectives have to look else where. They then find out that the bones belong to Ava Parulis, who was reported missing by her brother in law George Burton. When Benson and Stabler question her twin sister Irina about her sister, they soon realize that Irina may be hiding something. It turns out that Irina was mistaken for her sister and killed, Ava took on the role of her sister to protect herself and her family.

This was a great episode. I never would have guessed that Irina would have been mistaken for Ava, and that they would have switched identities. It is amazing what family will do when they are threatened.moreless
  • Major twist improves an otherwise mediocre episode.

    8.5
Most of this episode was fairly run-of-the-mill. It started off rather predictably and kind of dull. No great Olivia and Elliot interaction. No clever and sarcastic remarks from Munch. Not enough Fin in the episode. I almost gave up on this episode being interesting until the last fifteen minutes which made sitting through the first forty-five minutes worth it. I won't spoil the surprise, but it really saved the episode. There is a fantastic and emotional scene between two of the guest stars in the interrogation room that nearly brought me to tears. To sum up, this wasn't the best the writers could have done, but it is definitely worth a watch.moreless
  • A very good plotted episode, if confusing at time.s

    8.8
This episode deals with twins, so already you know it's going to be confusing, but when one of them is dead, and the other one is the suspect, and then you find out that it wasn't the dead twin wasn't the one everyone thought it was, you're really scratching your head.

But the plot is very intricate and well done, though you really do have to pay attention. But it's also really sad! These poor women! Plus it really is sad with the fake twins husband and daughter. Everything is sad in this episode.

As good as it was, I think they could've made it less confusing, like maybe giving the twins more different names.moreless
