Well, the gang is all here...this was the first night with the entire cast ~ old & new! I will miss Stabler but I think the new blood will definitely invigorate this veteran show. I didn't remember see Munch in this episode or if he was there it was for a brief moment but he wasn't on screen much last year either. Olivia is still a little mopey because of Stabler's retirement and the Captain isn't giving her much leeway and at one point tells her to show the new kids the ropes. Ice-T is his usual COOL self and actually tells the new girl that his son is gay and the bravest man he knows. I was impressed by his words but I love the character of Fin. The new set is great too. I think the show will survive without Stabler.
The episode deals with a basketball coach sexually abusing the boys he's coaching beginning at about 10 until 15 (puberty seems to be too old for this pedophile). The team must convince a professional basketball player to come forward to stop the abuse from happening to any other young boy, especially after the beginning victim is murdered. After Olivia brings the pro ball player face-to-face with Coach and he sees the current victim, he comes clean and testifies to the Grand Jury and then does a press conference with a couple other pro players [Ray Bosh & Carmelo Anthony doing cameos as themselves] stating that the victims shouldn't be ashamed because THEY didn't do anything wrong...Coach did.
It was a strong episode and a nice way to ease everyone into the new cast changes. It will be interesting to see how everyone progresses. Rumor has it that Olivia gets a promotion after episode 12 or 13 so there will be some new situations in the near future. So far, so good. I am liking the changes.
