Episode Summary

EDIT
A child is taken to a hospital after passing out, and it is discovered that she had a huge amount of detergent in her stomach. The first suspect is the mom and her daughter claims that she forced her sister to drink the detergent. After a scary confrontation with the judge he rules that the daughter cannot testify and therefore the mom is found not guilty. Novak then enlists Clark's assistance in obtaining evidence to remove the judge from the bench after his bias in two child abuse cases lead to the death of the child who died of suffocation by the mom and in another case the wrongful incarceration of an innocent woman.moreless

  • Casey Is A Witch

    1.0
Casey Novak like Olivia Benson gets on my nerves. They are both man hating witches.
  • Go Casey!!!!

I loved this episode. Not only was the case a great one, Diane Neal totally ruled this episode. I love how Casey went after that piece of crap judge. Everyone was telling her not to, she did it anyway, and she won. Go Casey!!! I'm glad they got that lady out of jail that had been there for 10 years. I feel bad for her. That judge seriously had me cursing at the tv. I really hope there aren't real judges like him out there. If there are, we are in serious trouble. I also liked how Elliot and Olivia helped Casey out by interviewing the lady that had been in jail. I'm glad she had at least two people backing her.moreless
  • Casey, your my hero!

Holy wow!! All I can say is that Casey, this is what she was ment to do, that Judge was a being a chauvinous pig! I would have smacked him, telling me how to dress. And Elliot, how could that judge go after him! he is just doing his job and it was rather funny to watch Casey yell at him to leave, you know him and his ego, he won\'t ever shut up once his mind is set up, and that lady. . . the adopted daughter killer-what the heck, she clearly did it!! and when she didn\'t die the first time, they let her take the girl home?? I was pissed at the judge, I wouldv\'e wrung out his neck and tyed his arms to a train!! that is my opinion on this episodemoreless
  • Casey Rocks!!!! YOUR MY HERO!!!

I have one thing to say about this episode. I love Casey!!! You can obviously tell that she was meant to do this. I wanna say that this episode really inspired me because it taught me not to give up. Casey didn't give up. She kept fighting and finally things turned out how they should. Okay this judge was a piece of crap. I would have went off telling me how to dress. I loved the part when he was on the stand ane she was questioning him. She told him how it was goin' down!!! I love Casey and I think she is great on the show. She will never replace Cabot but she might be just as good!!! GO CASEY. Keep up the wonderful work!!!moreless
  • Casey kicks some serious ass.

    9.4
Dang Casey, you're on FIRE! There were some pretty awesome Casey moments in this episode. When Judge Taft tells her to wear a skirt - priceless! I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in an SVU episode. This episode was great for Casey because we got to see her fiery spirit and her strong will to never let anyone get the best of her, especially not pompous judges like Judge Taft, who was just a world class jerk. The scene in the end where she publically humiliates him was great. He got exactly what he deserved. Let's hope we see more Casey episodes in the future (and by that I mean, Casey-like-in-Posion episodes, not Casey-like-in-Influence)moreless

  • TRIVIA (0)

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Casey Novak: Why did you tell the defendant to seek psychiatric help so this tragedy doesn't occur again?
      Judge Taft: She was upset.
Casey Novak: Because it sounds like you think she really did poison her daughter.
Judge Taft: It was a mistake! Is that what you want me to say, Miss Novak?! One mistake in almost 3 decades on the bench?!
Novak: Didn't you make another arguably bigger mistake when you wrongfully convicted Rosalin Silvo of murdering her daughter and sent her to prison for 10 years?!
Judge Taft: That's a totally separate issue, and completely immaterial to this case!
Casey Novak: You can't object, Judge Taft.
Judge Bradley: But I can, Miss Novak. Get back to the case at hand.

    • (Novak holds the door open, and Katie runs out.)
Oliver Taft: Well, I think that answers the question of swearability.
Casey Novak: With all due respect, Your Honor, I was confused by those questions.
Oliver Taft: I wouldn't go around admitting that, Ms. Novak.

    • Casey Novak: (referring to the case they just lost) I'm sorry.
Elliot Stabler: Don't be. Look, I know you went to the mat on this one, sometimes it just doesn't work out.
Casey Novak: I want Taft off the bench.
Elliot Stabler: And I want a '65 Stingray.

    • Pete Campbell: Wendy was always jealous of my wife. How can I make you understand? Karen loved Alexis.
John Munch: You mean 'loves' Alexis, don't you, Mr. Campbell? Present tense? The girl's not dead yet.

    • Elliot Stabler: This is a joke.
Judge Oliver Taft: I beg your pardon, Detective Stabler?
Elliot Stabler: I said, this is a joke.
Judge Oliver Taft: You'd be wise to remember that nobody cares what you think once you get off the witness stand.
Elliot Stabler: What, you think that cops just bully witnesses? You think I would really bully a seven-year-old child?
      Casey Novak: Elliot, leave!
Judge Oliver Taft: No, Elliot, stay and enjoy the hospitality of our holding cell. You're in contempt! Officer of the court, escort the detective to the lockup.

    • (Benson and Stabler arrest Taft during a fancy dinner party at his home.)
Judge Oliver Taft: You are making the biggest mistake of your career.
Elliot Stabler: And you are going to look so pretty for your mug shot.

    • Elliot Stabler: Casey, what good will it do to throw away your career?
Casey Novak: If this is justice, I don't want this career.
