  • Watch the team go undercover in one of the best episodes of the season.

    10
When a baby turns up dead having overdosed on cocaine, the detectives find a drug ring run by criminals and dirty cops behind it all. To put an end to it, Elliot goes undercover as a businessman interested in using the ring to supply his customers with cocaine. This leads to some really excellent scenes that let Christopher Meloni show off what he can do. It was hilarious and incredibly entertaining to see him flirt with Olivia AKA Dana, and play off the dirty cop who is in the middle of it all. Eventually Elliot is forced to do something only Olivia has had to do before, and watching the great emotional impact it has on him was heartbreaking. Christopher Meloni commanded the screen in by far one of his finest episodes. It was great to watch him. This episode was about as perfect as any SVU episode can get.moreless

L+O-SVU like all of the L+O, needs to do a better job of getting actor who do not look like criminals. It was pretty obvious who the bad guy was from the first 10 minutes, as all who see this show will know. I know they can do a better job of making it hard to tell who the bad guy is so fast.

That said, this is a great episode showing a lot of range for the actors. It gets them out of the SVU/sex type of story into an old fashioned drug runner story. It covers a lot of ground in just one show -- you get a lot of entertainment from just one episode. This easily could have been dragged into two parts, but it is very tight the way the story is brought together in one show. Elliot posing as a drug dealer is classic!!! Det. Benson plays a bar fly and a fake Elliot wife, both of them worth the time spent with this show.moreless
  • Great writing in an episode about drug smuggling. But the best parts feature Elliot undercover as a middle management-type selling drugs on the side.

    8.8
That poor mother with her baby- all she did was borrow a can of (what she thought was) baby formula. This was an interesting episode about drug smuggling, and the bizarre ways drug dealers figure out how to move the stuff around. The consequences, always, are tragic. Great writing for this episode.

But this was a Stabler episode. He goes undercover to catch the dirty cop behind a smuggling operation and ends up shooting the guy dead and feeling guilty and traumatised about it. Just another reason for him to be moody and angry, but CM did well portraying Stabler's anguish at how it all turned out.

This was a very well written episode, and a fascinating case for the detectives. But my favourite part of the episode was seeing Stabler (undercover) as a dumb yuppy businessman selling drugs on the side. Hilarious.

Oh, and I love how the writers decided to tease the OE shippers among us by having Elliot "flirt" with Olivia (undercover, of course) and then have them pretend to be married for about two seconds (undercover again). Very funny.

Great episode. One to watch again.moreless

loved it loved it loved it loved it.... if you know what i mean! i thought the whole squad under cover thing was an excellent idea and was expertly done. i really enjoyed elliot in glasses too lol. so yeah i thought it was an interesting storyline and of course i am an E O shipper so i loved it when the pretended to be married. I liked it but i don't really osee why it was an SVU case. i haven't seen the episode in a while so i guess i am just forgetting that part. whooops... i hope you forgive memoreless
  • Law and Order Special Victims Unit!

    9.5
When a baby is brought into the hospital because he isn't breathing well, Detectives Benson and Stabler are called in because of the doctor's suspicion of child abuse. The doctor confirmed that the baby was given a large dose of cocaine, which caused him to become ill. The baby's mother admits to stealing the formula that she fed her baby from the family that she works for, the Pfeiffer's, which was how the baby came in contact with the cocaine. During the investigation they find that Derek Pfeiffer was using the baby formula to cover up the fact that he was importing drugs into the United States from Mexico while he was on business trips.

This is one of the first episodes of Law and Order SVU that I saw when I started watching the series. I really like the storyline and how the Detectives had to go undercover to investigate after their lead suspect was murdered in order to keep him quiet.moreless
