  • Law and Order Special Victims Unit!

    6.0
A rape victim is brought into the emergency room for treatment and the Special Victims Unit is called in to investigate. After being questioned by Detective Olivia Benson she is taken from the hospital by a person they believe is her rapist. Detectives Benson and Stabler begin to track the victim down, but it proves to be a tough case as they do not know her name. When her body is found washed up on the shores of the Hudson, the begin to look for her murderer as well as her rapist.

This was a lame episode. I've seen it a couple of times and whenever it is on, it never is able to keep my attention. The only good thing about it is that yet again Olivia is determined to solve the case. But the case itself is boring and I didn't get attached to the victim at all.moreless
  • Horrific storyline with a chilling anatagonist

    9.3
The first act will grab your attention like no other. It really surprised me and will grip you no question, as the victim doesnt only suffer at the begining but again later on.

The nature of the crimes is horrific enough and will provide the adhesive to keep watching. The early part of the middle act provides the usual suspects which develops the circumstances of the story to mislead the viewer, enough to keep us from guessing real perpertrator - esp. given the quality of human beings involved. However, a vital clue leads to a person who seemed to have been essentially be benign in threat and his aura changes after a superb interrogation scene filled with a heavy threatening aura of danger. However, this is another episode that sees another less than 100% possiblity of convinction.

The plot cleverly brings the disbelieving mother who protects her son until she is persuaded to see the real evil in her son and testifies. This provides the pivotal moment that tips the stalement and see a conviction reached.

One of the better episodes of this season.moreless
  • Creepiest perpetrator in SVU history.

    10
This episode was the very definition of brilliant! If you only see one episode of SVU, make it "Soulless", just be aware you'll have to sleep with the lights on afterwards. After a girl was raped, taken to the hospital, abducted from the hospital, and finally drowned, all the detectives especially Olivia want whoever did it behind bars. This episode kept me guessing every step of the way. At first it was just one guy, then it was a group of guys, then it was a conspiracy with the victim's friend and a group of guys, then a main perpetrator was added to the mix as the one who actually killed the victim. The detectives interview everyone from teachers, to hospital staff, to valets, to neighbors, to the victim's lab partner. All dead ends until some new details about one of the people they interviewed are revealed. The final perpetrator goes from friendly and open, to curt and cold, to almost unrecognizable as a human being. Showing pleasure in torture and murder, the guy is finally nailed down in the most chilling interrogation room scene in all of SVU history. His own mother is then forced to take the stand where she begs the jury to put her son in jail. "No one can help him", she sobs in an emotional scene. This episode had me in tears with the hair on the back of my neck standing up. This was a great episode, just bring tissues and be ready to be scared.moreless

    • Olivia: This is a capital offense, Mitch. Looks like you're going away forever.
Mitch Wilkens: Don't worry I'll write.
Elliot: Well, we did a little digging. You don't own that brownstone where you were living. You never paid rent. You had no lease.
Olivia: It's owned by an elderly woman called Emily Owens. No family, most of her friends have died, and we can't find her.
      Mitch Wilkens: Huh.
Elliot: Eric, everybody, including your own mother, believes that you are beyond redemption. That's not true. This woman deserves a proper burial. You know that's the right thing. Where is she?
Mitch Wilkens: Gee, I don't know. I guess I'm going away for a while, so I should probably give notice. Do let me know if you find her.

    • Rapper: Chill, ya'll. I got to lay it down while I'm channeling, you know what I'm saying.
      Munch: Not a single word.

    • (M.E. Warner is looking inside victim's mouth)
M.E. Warner: Wait, there's something down here.... it looks like.. some kind of business card.
Olivia Benson: Please tell me this guy was stupid enough to leave his name.
      M.E. Warner: No.... yours.

    • Elliot Stabler: You were at AirBar with her.
      Vienna Sterling: No, I wasn't.
Olivia Benson: Really? (grabs Vienna's hand and shines UV light on it to reveal an elephant stamp)
Vienna Sterling: What are you doing?
Olivia Benson: Well, Elephant says you were.
Elliot Stabler: And they never forget.
