Spectacle's an appropriate name, since watching this was a kin to listening to one of Charlie Sheen's radio show meltdowns. It just so happens that in both instances, the aggressors were all over the place and lacked any kind of consistency or tact. Moving on, the most memorable part of this mess was how some guy actually staged an on-campus rape in order to get SVU's attention to help look for his little brother, who is missing (durr). Ever think of just going to the damn squad room, you moron? Seriously, who's the clown who wrote this episode. Probably Speed Weed, his episodes give me heartburn. Anyway, the bad doesn't stop there, Mariska got barely any face time, and Meloni and Ice-T pretty much mailed it in. And who could blame them?moreless
  • When students at a college campus see what appears to be a girl being raped live via a computer stream, the SVU team are soon on the case but it turns out to be far more complicated than they first expected and things are definitely not as they appear.moreless

When a girl is raped via a video stream by a young man with and tattoo and wearing a mask, the SVU detectives are convinced the attack took place on a local college campus but it turns out not to be the case and things get more confusing as other streams are put online which show the girl being bound and tortured.

When the girl is identified as Lizzie Harmon, a student from Julliard, a kidnapping is the obvious motive but when a cold case involving a young boy who was taken from the front of his building at the age of two surfaces, Stabler and Fin soon tie in the missing young boy to his older brother who is a member of the college fraternity.

It turns out that the two brothers, Greg and little Jason Engels lost their parents in a plane crash. When Jason was kidnapped, Greg could find nobody to listen to him and help him find his brother and so, he tells Elliot that the kidnap and rape of Lizzie Harmon was committed specifically for the purpose of bringing his little brother's case back to the forefront of police attention. Greg says that Lizzie will not be released until his little brother's whereabouts are known.

There is a very good twist in the plot as this episode unfolds and it's certainly something different and well worth watching. The only trouble I had with it was the appalling acting of the boy who played Greg, apart from that, a well written episode with a very interesting storyline.moreless
  • Stabler teams up with Fin to find out who's pulling his strings by holding a girl captive somewhere. The messages he gets are laced with the monkey hear, do, say, no evil message. When the twist happens everyone is left utterly confused and torn.moreless

Okay so this episode was not as bad as the previous two. We got to see Stabler behave in a new refreshing manner. We also got to have some order present again with the new ada doing something for once instead of just sitting aside. The twist was also interesting and it happens almost at the very end of the episode. I think I like these not completely clear cut ending svu episodes. Only problem and concern was a lack of Munch. He needs to be there doing something. In this you see none of him. Bensons' out of the episode for a good period of time but I am okay with that because she does some work. Please keep Munch alive people he's a great character to work with.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Nitpick: There is not always a one-to-one correlation of words to Chinese hànzì characters. The actual Chinese for "try or die" is 尝试或死 (Chángshì huò sǐ). Huang says that the tattoo says "pie or die", but that is 馅饼或死亡 (Xiàn bǐng huò sǐwáng).
