Firefighter Thomas Cooper and his wife Linda are tortured and murdered in their new townhouse. The murders are thought to be linked to an old unsolved drug case, but then the detectives learn about a firefighter named Nick Spence, who had just joined Cooper's company and was being severely hazed. The investigation suffers a setback when Spence dies in a fire under suspicious circumstances.moreless

Good news to report that there is a strong chance of a renewal and a 20th season (which would tie Gunsmoke's record) for Law and Order next year. That may be on NBC or USA Network, but the show is most likely coming back.

Watching old episodes on TNT you just do not get the same grittiness or intensity in the newer years. I don't know if it's that the cast is too comfortable or too weak, but I miss the days of Lenny and Ed. You had humor, some good action and confrontation. Lately it seems like the District Attorney's Office has just gotten too lazy.moreless

Just great as always and who says its not Gritty?

As a UK citizen there not very much US TV I like certainly not from the last 20 years , but Law and Order is brilliantly written and touches on prejusdices,politics and race and just comes back to what Crime and Justice is about , There are always victims and the Police and DA have to do their job and bring criminals to justice whoever they are .. even Brave Firemen. I do however think that the New York jury in this episode would not have convicted the fireman for 2nd degree .. on the evidence we saw in the show. Just to say I never really knew Linus Roache. what a great actor he is... the question is will Jack McCoy get re elected? I guess it all depends on whether theres a season 20 . which surely there must be. Tell me guys in the states does the show still get good ratings ? Especially with L&O CI and other similar shows.moreless
